My God is faithful
My God is truthful
My God is boundless in all He is
My God is wisdom
My God is righteous
My God is vision to all who see...
So I will worship you in the beauty of holiness
I will worship you for the things you've done in me
and when my life is complete
I'll throw my crowns at your feet
And I will worship You on bended knee

Reason: my God is wisdom, my God is vision
Amen! Great posts already! What a great bunch you are! So glad to know you all! Great to see you once again, B! Different views or not, we love ya'! Come around anytime you like.
A new year. Many poeple make changes, access their lives once again, and make new resolutions, or sometimes the same resolutions once again. Let's resolve to do this one thing, to seek the Lord, and to receive His Word. When we receive His Word, we receive Him, for He and the Word are one and the same.
I wrote this yesterday but didn't want it ending the old thread. This is what the Lord put on my heart, and I'd like to share it with you.
Is it possible for the Lord to be in our midst and we not receive Him? Oh, no. Not Christians. How could we who love Him so not receive Him? Tragically, it is possible.
John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. NKJV
This is shocking verse. Every time I come to it, it seems to hang heavily in the air. But then, that was then, at that time. That was when He was among those people. That’s because there was nothing about Him that we should desire Him.
Isaiah 53:1 WHO HAS believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message [of that which was revealed to us]? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been disclosed? 2 For [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him Amp
That couldn’t happen now. Could it? Does it?
Jesus is the Word. The Word is Jesus. The Word was made flesh. If you receive the Word, you receive Jesus.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth NKJV
This may be hard to swallow, but we need to take an honest look at this, keeping in mind the truth is what sets men free.
We must receive the Word of God. We must believe it over years of thinking patterns that are dominant subconsciously. The only way to do this is to ask the Lord to reveal to us how we really think, then we will become aware of thoughts we never realized were so often in our minds. In fact, we have thought them for so long they have come to be what the Bible calls strongholds.
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, NKJV
There are two things that can keep us from receiving the Word, or receiving Jesus. First, we do not recognize Him, and second, we do not believe Him. Oh, but you say, I do believe the Word. I’ve been a Christian for 25 years, and I believe the Word. Let me pick something out of my life to show you that that may not be so.
I once had a skin issue in my hands and feet. They had broken out in blisters so bad I literally could not walk, but had to crawl to the bathroom. The doctor said it could not be healed, but controlled. I had asked the Lord to heal me. I knew He could for He had healed others. As time went on and nothing changed I began to think He did not love me. It was a few years later when I received the Word concerning healing, and that He did indeed love me, enough to die for me. I had to come to the place where I believed His Word above what I saw with my eyes, and felt in my emotions. When I did that, things changed. I am healed completely. I take no medication, and have not for 28 years or so. I don’t need it! Was this easy? Yes and no. It is simple, simple enough for a child to do. However, it takes perseverance when things are contrary to what you see.
Did Jesus look like their awaited Messiah? Did He come as a King who would deliver them from Roman tyranny? Absolutely not.
Does it look like you’re healed? Does it appear God’s Word is not true? Does He do it for others but not you? Does He love you less? The devil would have you think so, and as long as you are looking at this temporal world in which we live, it will remain the same. I urge you beloved, to step into the things which we cannot see with our physical eye. Look with the eye of your faith at Jesus, at the Living Word, and receive what He has said. Hold fast to it. Receive Him and you will see His glory.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. KJV

Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”

So much you said resonates with my spirit. Thank you.
Along those same lines I had a powerful journaling session with Jesus last night. I was yammering on and on about not feeling loved, invisible, yada, yada, yada. When Jesus asked me if I loved him. Yes, of course, I said. And then he looked at me, and said again (just like with Peter), do you love me? And then it hit me. Loving Jesus means surrendering myself completely to him. Letting go of all my resentments, attachments to this world, expectations of others, needs to appear a certain way.....of my Self - the self I have glorified and worshipped instead of God. It means being focused only on Him for everything. I hadn't put my whole heart in Jesus' hands. I was still clinging on to my self-image and not giving even that to God. And to the extent I was doing that, I was not fully loving Jesus. It was a humbling and poignant realization for me.
It is a new year. A wonderful time for beginnings and fresh starts. A new chapter in an unfinished book. Praise God for second, third, (and many times, more) chances. I think we all need them!
Very good point - giving Jesus all the glory, desiring Him to be exalted, and not ourselves.
Good post, ral.
