Creation & EvolutionForum for the discussion of this important topic. This forum is open to non-believers. There is a Christians-only forum in the Christians-only section too.
I don't really ever post here because frankly dirt is very boring to me and I never felt the need to study it. However I try to read some of the stuff, I keep away from Hovind bashes, and I think I found out why so many of the threads here are always dead ends. It comes from the GA forum. I've seen christians ask atheist to prove that God doesn't exist etc. and they always reply that you cannot prove a negative. Now it seems to me that this here forum is all about prove this or prove that with negative and positive stuff all jumbled up together so that half of it doesn't make any since. How about from now on you guys pose questions that will go somewhere, as in ask people to prove a worldwide flood etc. and state reasons why it doesn't fit with the dirt history model or whatever, rather than just throwing out a bunch of random information in huge posts meant to disprove that it happened. More of a discussion rather than trying to make it look like shootihng fish in a barrell.

But falsifying creation science is like shooting fish in a barrel.

the original posts are often huge posts full of information. some of the evidence is also presented with many errors. i have seen some sentences that have a few non-grammatical errors. It is similar to someone jumping on a site and asking a room full of multi-religious theologans to explain everything about Jesus. or even one aspect of Jesus.
Plus these people have heard every arguement, esp.
those of Mr. Hovind, on average,973 times each.
And PL is right. I think it is more like catching the fish with your bare hands. Its hard to actually grab it, you get it, have everything right there, and then it wiggles and twists and gets away. then you have to start all over again, even with the same fish...

Pureone's analogy is superior to mine. I also think a lot of creationists get put off by the tone of 'evolutionist' (for want of a better word) posts, which are more exasperated because of the number of times the argument appears.

I am not sure I have ever seen a YEC who has done any significant objective research on the subject. They just come in and toss out arguments and concepts they have heard at a seminar, from a sermon or off a YEC website.

I'm sure we can all conclude that: Those that have, come in no longer as a YEC.
Ya know what I don't get about those people though... do they honestly think that they were the first people to come up with these little "errors" in the theory?

The evolutionists debating with YECs in here really does end up like shooting fish in a barrel. Scratch that, it is more like lobbing grenades at fish in barrels.

Young Earth Creationists are saying that they believe that the entire universe was blinked into existence 6 to 10 thousand years ago. I don't know that much about astronomy or geology, but I can tell you, I do not believe that is what happened.
Let's say I walked up to you and said, I have a book here that tells you how all the mountain ranges of the earth were created. What happened was thousands of years ago, there lived a race of giants. They would regularly have wrestling matches, and all that rolling around and slamming each other into the earth caused huge mountain ranges to appear on the earth.
Now, you may not know a thing about geology. But you probably know that's not what happened. However, can you prove it didn't happen that way?
