Wow! That's great jgonz. It's so neat that he remembers nursing even that young. I really hope to nurse my little one at least till he's two, maybe a bit longer if he's willing.

Aww that is so cute Jgonz! Jonathan only says "yes" very rarely, but if you ask if he wants milk, he smiles and signs for it and then climbs into my lap.

I lost my support group, My LLL leader has decided not to continue, the nearest group is now over an hour away, and it is so much fun taking three girls in the car. But I have made it past 5 months with Alice, and my mom is again trying to get me to stop. I have no plans to stop. And great news, we have yet to use formula with Alice, unlike Mary who I could not keep up with. I have 12 bags of milk in the freezer ranging from 4-6.5 oz, and still have enough to get her a bottle ready for Daddy in the mornings while I work (I have been averageing 12-14 oz at one pumping session 1/2 to the bottle 1/2 to the freezer), she naps during my afternoon route.

Woo Hoo PegasusOnFire! That's great that you've not had to give formula!
I've given Logan some formula because lately I'm having a hard time producing milk for the pump and I need 2 bottles a week for him (4-5oz each bottle) and lately I'm only getting enough in a week for one bottle maybe. I still feel full and I know there is milk in there but I can't get it out with the pump even with massaging..At least I know I'm not drying up!

Abel (now 16.5 months), only 2 weeks after I posted that he was still nursing that one time per day, has refused to nurse At All now for several days in a row. *sigh* I guess we're done. I have sooo many mixed feelings about this!

jgonz, focus on how awesome it is that you were able to make it past the one year mark with all the adversity you faced in the beginning. Not many women could have been able to ride through all of what you did.
L and I are going strong now 3 weeks into being a breastfeeding duo. She didn't nuse from birth and I began pumping when she was 2 days old. After hundreds of tries she finally latched on and actually sucked. It's been a long road but we're now to the point she's mostly breastfeeding and we supplement as little as possible. She does take a bottle [Thank God! Ethan never did.] and it's good she does because she only nurses laying down in a quiet room which makes NIP impossible. She's learning to ignore her loud big brother who disturbs her while she's eating.
E has voiced wanting to nurse again but he gets cow's milk[sometimes with momma milk mixed in] in a cup and lots of cuddles. Sometimes he pretends to nurse from my arm when his sister nurses. I remind him of all the big boy stuff he does that his sister can't do but he still seems to think he should get to nurse. I do not plan on ever nursing him again.
