Allow me to share in love and respectfully teach a very important lesson about the culture of my Ancestors and other American NDN tribes of that time. When many picture Native Americans, they see a stately chief, standing tall wearing a large feathered headdress. The headdress is a very important part of Native American culture. Typically made of beautiful bird feathers, it is more symbolic than anything else. But not everyone among the tribe could wear one, however. The Native American headdress was reserved for the most powerful and influential among the tribe. It is a little known fact that Native American headdresses were not made completely in one sitting. In fact, each time the chief, a warrior, or other important tribe member committed a brave act, a feather was added. Therefore, the more feathers in the headdress, the braver and sometimes much more ominous the wearer was. In certain tribes, the brave act itself was not enough. The warrior would have to provide himself by fasting for several days and meditating the entire time to show his steadfastness. This fact alone makes the significance of the Native American headdress very important. It is not to be worn lightly and never worn if it is not earned. Of all the feathers, the Golden Eagle feather was the most coveted and the most significant. If someone had one of these in their headdress, they received a great deal of reverence and respect from other members of the tribe.I see the Native American headdress as symbol of strength and bravery. Unfortunately, it is often worn by those who do not know or understand its sacred significance, Wearing a headdress was a real honor, and those who got the opportunity to wear one were revered and respected. It is for this very reason why I hesitate to wear the headdress given to me as a gift, because I know its sacredness and meaning, and I do not take either one lightly. So, within my Circles, I ask for this tradition to be honored out of respect, not for me, but for the North American Indian, who, for hundreds of years, have been misunderstood and stereotyped. Thank you.

Very awesome words you have here -- very educational and enlightening. I was not sure of all of the symbolism and meaning that was attached to it.

“The egalitarian mania of demagogues is even more dangerous than the brutality of men in gallooned coats... Anyone who has been oppressed can get back on his feet if the oppression did not cost him his life. A man who has been equalized is physically and morally ruined." - Ernst Jünger (March 29, 1895 – February 17, 1998)

Matthew Chapter 7
7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

When peace is scattered, imagine a flock of gentle sheep and lambs feeding in sunny meadows. Their slow gentle gait across the slopes and among the grasses is so peaceful that the whole atmosphere is laced with serenity. And then think what it is when a few goats get in with the sheep. Mischief begins. It is not the nature of goats to graze peacefully. They move among the sheep causing restlessness until the whole flock is ill at ease. There are goats among us. They cry and nip and bite, they stir up activity that is not congenial, and it is a real job to separate the sheep from the goats. And more than this, we have to make sure we are not one of the goats.

Elder's Meditation of the Day - December 11
"Peace... comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the Universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us."
--Black Elk (Hehaka Sapa) OGLALA SIOUX
If we are to know peace we must look within ourselves. In order to do this, we must learn to be still. We must quiet the mind. We must learn to meditate. Meditation helps us locate and find the center that is within ourselves. The center is where the Great One resides. When we start to look for peace, we need to realize where it is within ourselves. When we experience conflict we need to pause for a moment and ask the Power within ourselves, "How do you want me to handle this? What would you suggest I do in this situation?" By asking the High Power for help we find peace.
Creator, help me to find peace.

'THINK on THESE THINGS'
by Joyce Sequichie Hifler
A graphologist is a handwriting analysis expert who can take apart the loops and dashes of our penmanship and tell us about our nature. We have a natural curiosity about ourselves. We want to know whether our self-image is the true one. We often think we are capable of seeing another's true nature, but we seem to lack the ability to really know ourselves. In fact, so much about us reveals our disposition and temperament that it can be distressing.
Our handwriting may tell us about our emotional nature, and we may learn that we are introverts by the slant of our letters, but much of our disposition can be self-analyzed by the way other people respond to us.
It doesn't take a graphologist to tell us that if we are inconsistent in our friendliness, if the tongue alternates acid and honey, if we continually complain, continually gossip, criticize and pout, we are revealing a nature we too often think is hidden.
Hi, everyone. I am sorry to say that my computer at home has crashed. I am using the computer at the school library at this moment. As I have Christmas break starting Friday, I will not have a computer available to me until I find the money to (A) get the old Dell computer fixed or (B) Buy a new computer. This is not the first time it has crashed. This is the fourth time in about two years. So, I apologize for not answering pm's in the next few days or weeks. Lol, if I know my husband, we will end up buying a new computer. He loves to buy new things. I love to simply have old items repaired.
How is everyone? I may start having withdrawal symptoms from the computer soon, lol.
Thanks for the encouragement and love I receive here.
Thanks for the special pm's I received and opened just a few minutes ago.

Been there, done that, just last month.
The Dell Vostro's are pretty nice, go in through small business though, no preinstalled junk. And do NOT get it with vista. At all costs get XP Pro, the Vostro line allows that as an option. I have a Vostro 1000 laptop and it's working nicely. My first "bought" system, the rest have been self assembled.
