"I am from New York." Stella stated, hoping that is what the girl meant. "My mother and brother are still there, and my father is in Germany." Stella walked beside the girl, her mind was roaming, which wasn't difficult since she could hear the thoughts of everyone in the building. She tuned everyone else out, figuring it was best if she didn't find enemies the first day.
"Germany? Cool. I'm from New Mexico, but my grandparents and some of my aunts and uncles are still in Mexico. " Alicia ducked around a corner, thinking of the familiar, colorful cities of Mexico. "Why is your dad still in Germany?"

"I reprogrammed the TV! We only get three channels now: On, Off, and BATMAN!" --My brother
"Oh," Stella smiled to herself. "My dad is in the United States Airforce, so we have lived all over the world. But my decided enough was enough, and now our home is Chinatown, New York, and my dad is deployed in Germany."
"Oh. Wow....my dad's a doctor. We've pretty much lived in New Mexico since I was born...." She trailed off as they entered the noisy cafeteria. "What's Germany like? Is it cool?"

Stella shrugged. "It's Germany!" she sighed. "The architechure is beautiful, the people are nice, but I was only there a week or so before my mom moved us back to New York." Stella wasn't phased by the loudness of the cafeteria, it was the fact that there were so many people in there. She nervously looked around, wanting to run back up to her room. Her hand dug into a small pocket of her skirt and pulled out a small smooth rock, and her fingers started working at as if they were smoothing it out.
"Oh. Cool!" Alicia grabbed a tray and got in line. She watched Stella with the rock, but finally shrugged and turned back to the line. Probably just some kind of stress reliever or something.

Stella mimiced Alicia and grabbed a tray, waiting in the line, her eyes passed along the greasy pizza and hamburgers, searching for something she could eat. "Is this all they have?" she asked as her eyes fell upon the salad bar, sighing with relief.
"You'd be right. I remember fighting you one time. it was you who burned me and gave me this." Stephen pulled the neck of his shirt across to reveal a burn scar on his right shoulder. "But we won that time anyway." Stephen said with a big smile on his, remembering the good old times fighting along with the brotherhood. He wished he still was.
"I am glad those days are over for now at least. I lost many a good friend in that war and I took many lives. It is a hard thing to deal with. Especially since I already liv with the fact that I caused my family's death. I had no control over my power and I burnt the house down and they were trapped in it. Every life I take or every friend I lose is another reminder of that fated night. So I am glad the days of the war are over and I hope they never return in my lifetime. Enough talk about that though." Matt said.
"I have a question for you. Do you find it weird being at a school run by Magneto and seeing him no longer fighting? You were one of his right hand men weren't you? This must be strange for you, right?" Matt asked.
Tayanita carried her tray over to a empty table in the caferteria. She sat down and looked at her food, the food was not she was used to eating. But she had learne to adapt in the past couple years. She took a bite out of her hamburger, as she looked around the room. She had seen 2 more girls enter the caferteria line, when she was looking for a table. There was other kids sitting at tables carrying on conversations and eating. While she sat there she wondered how do you strike up a conversation with another student. Do i just say "Hi my name is Tayanita, I am a mutant". She frowned, I can't say that, from what my parents told me about the school; the students here have powers just like me. She looked down at her tray and stabbed her fork into her salad.
Steven was surprised that this boy had stepped back, as though he was aware that his power was affected by range.
Steven decided right then and there that he had risked enough already. Without saying another word, he turned to the food, grabbed the nearest piece of food, which happened to be a hamburger, and left to find an empty table.
