I don't know much about him, but what I don't like is that in order to become a member of his church you have to have a credit check. I think that's just wrong and un-Biblical. Jesus didn't check people's credit before He healed them or would talk to them. He doesn't care what our credit is like so why should T.D. Jakes? I live not far from his church and it's packed every Sunday. Though, I wouldn't go there because my finances aren't his business.
I've never heard this attributed to his church, and I can't find anything about it by searching. Where did you hear that it is a requirement to belong to his church?

My mom heard this. I don't think this is something that they like to spread around. It's kind of a well kept secret. My mom only knows this because she knew some people who went there.

Well I personally liked alot of the sermans he has given and they came at a time when I was having a rough time. I do know that the Lord can use anyone to reach you and I have noticed that he is a great speaker. I personally dont believe in following anyone but Jesus Christ and just realize that the tv pastors can be used by God to reach people in their homes.

You are correct that God can use anyone. Even an athiest, nature, or the art's to work in one's heart or to reflect God. Even unorthodox Christians.
However, I think one needs to be careful in that regard. A Mormon believer can show us how to love someone in Chirst, but I would not seek their guidence on salvation. Therefore, one has to be careful that just because someone has a some wheat, that doesn't mean that the tares may not be gathered as well. That is why I am careful to seek the teaching of those who hold to the essentials of the Christian faith (those beliefs that are held by a large majority of Christians through the large majority of the Church age).
You are right that we are to follow Christ only, but we are to do this in the context of the Body of Christ which seeks to live out the faith with the correct orthodoxy (right belief) and orthopraxis (right action). We do not live individual Christian lives, but we live the Christian life in community of all saints (past present and future) who we will all eventually praise and worship Christ together one day.

T.D. Jakes is a modalist (even though he would say he isn't a modalist). He would say he is Trinitarian, but he isn't a Trinitarian in the Traditional view, but it is actually a form of Modalism.
Modalism is heretical. So T.D. Jakes teaching on that essential belief is unorthodox. I wouldn't suggest following his teaching in general as he is also part of the Word of Faith crowd, which has a lot of heretical teachers.
I'll never forget a couple of years ago when Christianity Astray gave Jakes an opportunity to respond to the accusations about his modalist heresy.
He wrote this two or three page explanation that began with "I'm not a modalst", ended with "and that's why I'm not a modalist", but everything in between amounted to "I'm a modalist".
He's changed his story so many times that even he doesn't know what he believes any more.
I believe that T.D. Jakes teaching are more geared towards miniorites...but i like his preaching...i dont listen to it much now..but i believe that he preaches in a way in which the black community can recieve the word..and many of these "rumors" i have never heard of before..

Actually, they're not rumors. They're already known to be true.
well this is my first time hearing about it actually..but God will be the judge...we look to man and not to God period..i looked up one of these links..and like i have said before as a black female..many things he says...is just commentary and other language used in the black community...

Jakes' race is no excuse for his heresy.
When Jakes stands at that Great White Throne judgement, God isn't going to say "Oh, it's OK. You're black."
