In order to build the ark to the size described inthe bible there must have been quite a large ,knowledgeble work force. Just to gather the timber must have been an enormous task for four persons

Noah & his family had 120 years to build the ark. He was a preacher of righteousness and he warned the people all that time, but they were hard headed and would not listen to him.
Even 120 years would not be enough to build and provision it. Your are a carpenter, how long would it take to cut all the timber and cure it, with just four people.

He also had God on his side...I think that would have made a difference...120 years was more than ample time...

So god did it?In the bible it says noah built the ark. All four had no experience building large boats. They could spend most of that time caulking the boat, and where would the material for that come from?

Don't you know that's as far as you're going to get? As soon as the literal interpretation of the Bible begins to fall apart they immediately jump to "God did it" as a defense. Of course this "god" of theirs doesn't do ANYTHING in the world thru direct intervention, he uses the natural processes of the world to enact his miracles... that is, until something can't happen naturally. THEN suddenly God jumps down from wherever it is he hides himself and holds that ark in his hands to keep it from sinking.
People who take the Bible literally are just plain fools. And they prove my point on this forum just about every day.
