Reps: 12 (power: 0) | | | Called to Music Ministry Hey Musicians,
I was just wondering what kind of experiences you had in your calling to be in the music ministry.
I am just starting to really get involved in it, though I've played guitar for about 4 years and bass for over 1. I recently moved to a new area for school, and started putting my trust in God. Not long after I started having a renewed faith in God, I suddenly had two worship team offers come my way. I was so excited, and I guess I still really am.
Feel free to share your experiences, I'm really interested in hearing how God has called others, and how He works in you through music.

I have only been a Christian for 3 years and when I first became a Christian I pick up the guitar but I didn't feel a calling. A year latter I heard God calling me to pick up the guitar and I have been bless just that God has given me a passion to play guitar. One of my good friends at the same time pick up some drumms and then are youth pastor and his friend play and we started a band. We lost or youth pastor friend because he broke his finger but we still play and I really like just getting together and jamming. We play ever Thur. at a local college. Where called F.A.T pigs. |

Don't let anyone say your not good enough to lead worship. I knew 7 chords and 2 strumming patterns, and I felt closer to God than any chords, licks or scales could bring me. God is amazing. |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | Word! One time me and three other friends got to gether and I play 3 chords over and over and we sung or own song to Him and that was my best time with worship. We just made up words or let me say we let Holy Spirit speak through us. |

Reps: 511 (power: 0) | | | I staretd music ministry about 5 years ago in a small pioneering church (just had guitar and worship leader) and recently (a few months ago) I moved to another church here and after a few weeks and after attending rehearsals and allowing the leaders to watch my motivations and attitudes towards the ministry..they got me involved and its been a real blessing for me. God has gifted me musically thats for sure.
In this new church i have gone from playing guitar to keyboatrd (to fill in when other msuciains are unavailable) now im going to be playing drums as one of the few drummers is leaving and im the only other person who can probably play well enough for now.
The highlight of my ministry so far would be one night service where the presence of god was very strong even druing the parctice before church..i was playing acoustic guitar and i really felt led to step out into a little improvisation on the acoustic..trying to flow with gods spirit..so i did despite the fact i didnt want to get told off for it (although i didnt in the end)
And Gods annointing came and i was flowing with the music like i never have before. |

Reps: 96 (power: 0) | | | I'm going to music education and music ministry. I've been playing piano at my home church as special music for years, and helping with the choir, and hope to work part time at one when I get out of college. Music is always rewarding, not just for you, but for everyone who listens and the message is sends to them through your music. I've been blessed with much talent, and I feel it's my mission in life to bless others through the music. I hope it goes well for you, and everything you do. I'll be praying for you! |

Reps: 458 (power: 0) | | | While in Russia... My friend and myself started our own little group.. we wrote about 20 songs.. all our own.. and have about 12 recorded. and three rewritten.. it is awesome. We both play guitar and drums.. so we'd alternate between each song.. I've been playing guitar for about 11yrs and drums for 12yrs.. it has been wonderful serving God though it. Since my friend lives in the US and myself in Canada.. we dont see each other often.. so that is a bummer Right now i'm involve with our worship team in the church.. playing guitar/bass. and God has been showing me wonderful things through it too... most of which are areas in my life which need correcting. Praise God. |
