I conceived the idea that if friends distorts the economy so that the wealthy always exist (as Jesus said in Mark and other gospels - (paraphrased) "the poor you will always have with you")), friends would also distort adaptation so that a consistent identity (instead of exceptions) would always exist, ie. friends mean speciation doesn't happen.
In other words, friends limit evolution (because friendships overcome differences).
The model Darwin used, which described ancestors as independent procreators without friendships is essentially the problem. If you look at your ancestors as cut off from one another, you fail to factor in the fact that staying together leads away from any possible speciation. Species stick together. This is a mathematical certainty, just as the poor always existing is (see the article above).
If you do decide to argue the point with someone, just remember that wherever there is trade in values, friendship overcomes differences. Be it communication or whatever, as soon as people keep their friends (or a limited environment with other creatures like it, in habitable areas, say) inequality arises that favours wealth, or good genes (etc.), building up. In terms of adaptation, that means integrity builds up and speciation doesn't happen.
I am interested to hear your comments!

me: Not.
