Octopus

Does anyone know the symbolism of Octopus? Faith had a dream about a big fish on a ramp and it turned into an Octopus. Any thoughts? I can't find anything on Octopus. Thanks for any help.

I found "Octopus" in an online dream dictionary.

Octopus
To see an octopus in your dream, signifies that you are entangled in some difficult matter or situation. Or it may mean that you are overly possessive and too clingy in a relationship.

In the deliverance ministry, an octopus often represents the spirit of mind control.

We dealt with these spirits years ago in deliverance sessions. Members often saw visions of what appeared to be an octopus-looking thing wrapped around a person's head. I beleive this spirit is also described in Win Worley's books on spiritual warfare.

I don't know a whole lot about this spirit except that it has something to do with manipulating and controling people's minds and their thought process, and could even be related to addictions, etc. I'm not referring to possession here, but there is no doubt certain individuals suffer from compulsive behavior and claim to not really being in direct control of themselves. This may or may not be related to the mind control spirit, but it sure needs more looking into.

I'll consult with my pastor to find out more.

She did say that she saw a big fish and that the fish then turned into an octopus. Any thoughts on what that could mean - a transformation from a big fish to an octopus?

I v seen this too, I also did not know the meaning at that time, but it feels awful.

I shall give you some ideas but they maybe aren't what you are looking for but I believe it is important to share with you. I used to come here and other boards for all the answers to my dreams but I found if something actually meant something, the Lord would speak to me Himself. I believe by spending time in the Word and praying this person can find out what it means. I think if you do not know what her dream means, maybe you are not supposed to know. Maybe you are supposed to encourage her to ask the Lord about it that He may reveal to her what it means..

The world has its symbolism for things, but I think it is dangerous to use the world to base deep meaning things on. Also I believe one cannot generalize what it means spiritually as a Christian either.

For example, Pharaoh in the Bible dreamed of fat and skinny cows which represented revelations about his country's harvest. But if a person has a vision of a cow on a road, it may mean the Lord is revealing to them that they will see a cow on a road and they have to follow where it goes or something. But if a person dreams a cow is attacking them, it can mean something completely different.

As far as that dream, i think the person should go to the Lord and examine everything and write down whatever they remember and pray about it. I can see some things that appear to be meanings.

I mean something changed.. and with that, on a ramp. But i want to encourage you to seek the Lord on this matter and encourage you to tell the person that dreamed it to seek the Lord on this. here you may find many different interpretations, leading to confusion.. Confusion is not from God.
