I've always wondered if these people don't care enough to have their work proofread. I'm no English scholar by any means but I feel that if I'm going to do something, the least I can do is do it correctly or not at all.
More often than not, people are careless and inconsiderate of others when they cannot spell or don't take the initiative to do a good job on their work. Misspellings, incorrect usage or bad grammar really makes me look at the author of said article and wonder how professional or how well they know their material.
You don't have to have an English major to be proper.
What is your pet peeve?

Reps: 373,623 (power: 379) | | I'm with you on the spelling issue. It's just so hard to read something when the words are misspelled. I find myself having to read some things two or three times to get the gist of the message.
My peeves of the moment are "rediculous" instead of "ridiculous", and "your" instead of "you're" (or vice-versa). |

LOL! I'm glad there are others out there like me. Some people also use there when they mean "their" or "they're" -- it's amazing how some people just don't care about how they come across. I see the "your" instead of "you're" all the time. It is so simple to get it right that it makes me wonder if these people have a few brain cells missing.
