As an ex salesman, I must confess that seeing the OP title made me wonder if JKR's statement was to persuade more evangelicals to buy her books While that possibility is still on my mind, I find her statement about hoping to recover her faith quite frank
Brought up in the C of E, it's very likely that the preaching she heard was kinda 'liberal' - like what turned me atheist from ages 10-13
These days, even many who call themselves evangelical don't accept the Bible as the unique, inerrant, infallible Word of God, or the atoning sacrifice of Christ @ Calvary the only way of salvation
In God's timing, I woke too late to go to www.frontline.org.uk - (see download click for all talks there!) - & heard instead a very timely, appropriate message @ www.yourelookinggreat.co.uk (@ their great newly refurbished Canalside Leisure Centre!) "Lord, increase our faith!"
We all start with 'faith the size of a grain of mustard seed'
But God wants all of us to mature & grow into 'the stature of the fullness of Christ' & have 'a different spirit' - like courageous Caleb in Numbers 14 This half term holiday is the perfect chance to get deeper into the Word of God & seek to be 'continually being filled with the Spirit' So let's pray for JKR to apply the same diligence of study to the Word of God as she dangerously did to the occult for her series of books (Deuteronomy 18:9-13)
Talking of JKR being prayed into a hunger & thirst to study God's Word, maybe I'll see any similar www.loveyouruni.org.uk students out there @ the Frontline Students Night @ 7pm tonight &/or the Hope City Church Student Special @ 6pm next Sunday?
