Should Evolution be taught in the public schools?

I hope that one day Natural Selection will not be a swear word in the public schools in Florida or the other states where evolution cannot be taught.

I am trying to set up a poll here where you can vote yes evolution should be taught in the public schools and no evolution should not be taught in the public schools and I don't know if it should be or shouldn't be.

What are your thoughts?

It's science, and at least a basic level of science should be taught in schools. As evolution is essentially the basis of modern biology, it should be taught.

I think you don't actually know the teaching status of evolution in any particular state. Certainly we should combat opposition to its teaching wherever we encounter it, but I know of no government entity of any size or scope - much less an entire state - that has officially banned it from public schools.

Er...evolution is taught in Florida and all other states. It is not currently rejected by any state board of education, and I know of no districts that currently do not have it as part of their curriculum.

Yes. Call me crazy, but I think that we should teach science in schools.
