| My Tomato Sauce
Kickin’ Tomato Sauce
˝ Large Sweet Onion, Finely Chopped 3 Cloves Garlic, Minced 28 oz. Crushed Tomatoes or Tomato Puree 6 oz. Tomato Paste 6 oz. Water 1 ˝ Tbsp. Dried Oregano 1 Tsp. Sugar 2 Tsp. Red Pepper Flakes ˝ Tsp. Salt or To Taste Olive Oil Nonstick Cooking Spray Spray a medium saucepan with olive oil spray. Place pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until opaque and sweating, approx. 5 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste and water, and stir until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients; reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer at least 20 minutes or until you’re ready to serve. Keeps approx. 5 days in the refrigerator and freezes well. Makes 8 servings. Per serving: 51 calories, 3g protein, 13g carbohydrate, trace fat, 3g fiber
