Oh no... not again.

Look - there is not enough time to teach science in school to the depth required for A-levels (16-18 year old college level).

Why waste precise time talking about something that is clearly not a science.

I have nothing against having creationism taught in schools, it would be good for the education of the children but it should be at the "expense" of the RE (Religious Education) timetable and NOT science.

Hey - it could even be taught by science teachers, I would have loved to do that (I walked away from teacher). Think of the fun I could have hand – I could have taught Astronomy and biology in a fun way. Asking the children “What is wrong with this idea of Noah and the flood?” or “What is missing in the description given in Genesis 1”

Of course, if we are teaching creationism in school – ALL religions should be taught. Then the final year exam could be an essay along the lines of “Is any single religion right, if so, why are all the others wrong?”

Well, if the teachers don't have to waste time in attempting to influence students in believing homosexual behavior is acceptable or in handing out condoms, then perhap there would be a little more time to encourage educational investigation. I for one would have given up reading BRAVE NEW WORLD for a little extra science instruction.....

I don't know about other UK schools but I didn't do sex-ed as part of the science curriculum. Sure we were taught the biology behind it but the social aspects/implications of sexual behavior was done in another class which lasted a total of 2-3 hr over the course of my entire 5 years in secondary education, not exactly a lot of time wasted.
In fact I would have preferred more informative lessons like science instead of the 2 hr I did weekly in RE and the half an hr I spent every morning during the schools Christian assembly, now those were a waste of time.

If you turned out to be a decent sort of person, then it wasn't all wasted time. If you are thoughtless, inconsiderate, mean spirited, and selfish, then I would have to admit the effort was wasted.

Fantastic, now just apply that logic to fundie Christians in the USA who go around yelling at people for not believing in God, basically being thoughtless, inconsiderate, mean spirited and selfish.

What went wrong with them?

A REAL education is one that teaches a child how to figure out problems for one's self and isn't encouraged with the dishing out opinions or facts to memorize. If teaching evolution is all about memorization, then how thoughful and educational and scientific, can it possibly be. Being bored or entertained does not an education make.

I've never heard that. I was; however, called a stupid a----hole for saying I believed in GOD. My responce was simply that I was very sorry he felt that way, and I hoped that he might reconsider at some future date.
