heh. sorry, i had to bring this one back up. it's amazing that they have a name for anything. anyways...i see nothing wrong with being on the net all day.
hmmm...but even though i'm on all day, i don't fit into any of those. i don't feel the need to use more to be satisfied. and i don't feel the need to use it less either. i guess i'm okay.
...i'm not in denial.

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you to rise

welll I may be a tad bit addicted, I am on it quite abit, I love message boards because you can connect with people. I am a stay at home mom, I also find lots of fun kid stuff to print out for my kids to do. we research on it. I like it.
I know that there are more people addicted to the net on this forum...
I think you're right... everyone's just in denial.
Shortly following posting this thread I decided to take a little vacation from the internet...
I started with a week and came back then two weeks.
I'm pretty much convinced that I'm not addicted now.
It's not the toughest addiction to break

Now, it is a disgraceful and dangerous thing for an infidel to hear a Christian, presumably giving the meaning of Holy Scripture, talking nonsense on these topics; and we should take all means to prevent such an embarrassing situation, in which people show up vast ignorance in a Christian and laugh it to scorn.”
It really amazes me on how alot of people become "addicted" to the net.
Crack, Drugs and alcohol become addicting because of obvious reasons. Your body starts to depend on them to function and they become a craving and a need, even more then food. But I would think that the internet should be something rather simple to quit.
There's physiological addiction (the kind you're describing: your body adapts so that it needs the drug- as happens with heroin, alcohol, tobacco, etc) and psychological addiction (it's in your mind- it feels good, so your mind begs for more- this is what happens with softer drugs (such as marijuana))
Internet addiction is obviously of the second kind. And recovery for most (if not all) psychological addictions follows the same procedure- slowly reduce your exposure to the addictive factor, try to focus on other things, and get support. You can be psychologically addicted to pretty much anything that makes you feel good- music, chocolate, sex, watching TV, even bible study. And psychologists would advise you to seek help if this negatively impacts your life- your health, work, family and social life, etc.
When I first got the web, Yes it was actually called the web back in 97! (now the NET!) I stayed on for 18 hours straight..I was glued! Now I do 1-3 hours a day..for me its my Entertaiment as I rarely watch TV or movies...I love reading articles and stuff from bible and Christians sites..though there is alot of evil on the web also.
I also do all my banking and bills online..very fast and convient!
I'm online all the time, but I don't think I'd addicted, it's just a form of entertainment for me. When my motherboard blew up and my PC was getting repaired I wasn't going "ahhh I have to get online NOW!!!" or anything, I just read or went online on my laptop.......er ok so maybe I'm in denial.
