I think this one is a gem, because it ties together two completely independent sciences and dating methods.

according to the article, by looking at mitochondrial DNA it is possible to date a bottleneck in the population back to about 100kya (thousand years ago). This coincides precisely with when the Islands Alcedo volcano, is thought to have exploded. This clearly throws a spanner in the works of YECism, since it is highly difficult to explain how these two techniques could have coincided so precisely, on a date some ten times older than they say the universe itself is.

So it falsifies all of YECism, not just the flood?

I give us about fifteen minutes before we are informed that radiometric dating is wrong because Dr Dino said so.

well all of YEC I just loke the flood line because it is a bit of a theme.

well they can say that radiometric dating is wrong if they like, but now they have to say that radiometric dating and mitochondrial dating are wrong in such a way that they both give the same incorrect date at the same time, that's a much tougher challenge.

that article is based on pure speculation. it has no evidence to support it, its just a bunch of guessing. it says in no way how they guessed that the "almost extinction" happened 100,000 years ago. they just guessed it. it also has no evidence for how they knew the volcano happened around that time either. its just a bunch of opinions without supporting facts, which makes those opinions nothing but worthless "blah blah blah"

nice to see you know nothing about science, genetics, vulcanology and dating techniques. I suppose the entire basis of your opinion is from the BBC site rather than from a proper education. next please.
