If the bible had been written today, and not a few thousand years ago, how would genesis have sounded?
In biblical times, nothing was known of what we today regard as scientific knowledge and much of the opening chapter of the OT is their best guess with a supernatural element.
But would a modern version include knowledge of DNA, evolution and primordial soups?
Would god divulge to us new information for us to grow upon and build, or just recount the same story?
Pleasse enlighten me with your ideas and opinions.

Do you think a Genesis book written today would have two very different creations stories? Nope… we will try and get it right before we publish.
And don’t we have such books? I have plenty of physics books on my bookcase that describe the “creation” of the universe… in much greater detail than the bible ever could dream of (and erm – they suppose to have God to help them? Funny that – even with God’s have they write rubbish – it certainly does not explain how the universe came into existence)
Today’s physics books also do not include God anywhere in the pages… why would it, God is not required.

Thanks Lee, but i was thinking more along the lines of god's latest prophet giving us an update.
After all, islam and mormons have an updated version, why should christians be left out?
I'm thinking more along the lines of claims that god made the energy and the 'big bang', manipulated the laws of physics to create one planet (maybe one only?) that would evolve life.
With or without further input, I don't know.
Any of you with scientific and theistic knowledge, please enlighten me.
Even if you think it would be almost exactly the same.

Bible version 2.0?
I think it is written in the bible somewhere that you cannot have one of these... it is against God to add to the bible!

God's latest and last prophet was Jesus Christ, and Christ AFFIRMED the teachings of the Torah INCLUDING Genesis. He spoke of the first man and woman, and affirmed that the Sabbath was God's holy day of rest. If it was accurate the first time, why would their be any updates?

Perhaps Christianity needs more false prophets to distort the word of God and lead His people astray? Q. How many virgins in Pardise does a Muslim homicide bomber get? A. None. He takes his next breath in Hell.

The Big Bang happened on day four, when God decreed that the singularity He called "light" should become the sun, the moon and the stars. Life did not evolve. It was created intact in its mature form. God created trees bearing fruit that presumably had "growth" rings. Adam and Ever were mature adults, not embryos. The birds and the animals were created intact. God was very specific; even going so far as to explain that the days were evening and morning, which COULD ONLY BE a single rotation of the earth.
