Christian Persecution on the Internet

Greetings to all,

Social Activists are using the internet as a propaganda machine to control the way people think. As the saying goes, "garbage-in garbage-out." Currently there are internet “cyber-cities” that are dedicated to distorting the good news that Jesus died for sinners. They attempt to make all Christendom look hateful and uncaring, by attacking the biblical definitions of sin. Sin is what put Christ on the cross to start with, but this has been distorted to a message of hate.

The propaganda web-sites ARE persecuting at the intellectual level because of their campaign to subjugate Christians from sharing the good news of the gospel.

persecution:
1. The act of persecuting.
2. A program or campaign to subjugate or eliminate a specific group of people, often based on race, religion, or social beliefs.

I’m collecting information about internet "cyber-cities" that receive the infamous "tombstone" award for "unfriendliness toward Christians."

Please share yours as well.

There are certain internet communities that have earned their reputation, as Jesus said:

Mark 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
My example is the http://www.sciforums.com/ religion sub-forum, at the sci-forums cyber-city, which is clearly dominated by atheists. The religion sub-forum is an atheist forum --imagine that!!! The forum allows you to present the doctrinal belief that man is a sinner, but the gospel message of salvation through Jesus Christ is strictly forbidden. Hence, by filtering out the gospel message, they reinforce their own misguided beliefs that say Christians are only interested in bashing sinners, because the forum only allows half the gospel message sans love.

It touts itself as an open-minded community, and it seems to be, except when somebody mentions Christianity.

One of my earliest, not-so-fond memories, was being labeled a "xian", a "religious nutter", and a “nutbar”. The name of Christ is unmentionable you see, and it is replaced by a mere "x" as in "x-mass". To encourage myself a little in this depressing graveyard of a spiritually-dry-place, I said, "Well, even in their own denial they still give me the sign of the cross."

Followers of Christ (according to the moderators and web-site devotees) are cultic lunatics lead by the cause of hatred, bigotry, and persecution of their fellow man. Sciforums is an intelligent community you see, and they take great pride in letting you know how unintelligent you are for believing in God. It presents the ”Jesus myth” as though there is a factual basis to abandon the universally accepted axioms of historicity. This is “intelligence” at work.

On a religion forum one might think Christianity would be appropriate for an open, objective, intelligent discussion. And when you go there, you will be told your faith is receiving fair treatment. I don’t know any Christians there that would agree, however.

Please let me present an example. This particular post (on CF) was shared verbatim on the sciforums religion forum:

http://foru.ms/t5937390-church-of-th...by-part-2.html

It was deleted and the moderator said:

You come here and pretend to be interested in discussion and discourse, but you really want to proselytize your message of hatred for homosexuals.

Your precious "peer reviewed" thread (a few quote-mined citations do not imply peer review) wasn't deleted at all. It was moved to the appropriate forum.
In an act of censorship, the entire thread was simply removed PERIOD. Admittedly, the peppering the OP received from the atheist die-hards left little to salvage except the OP itself.

I responded:

I thought the message was rather loving. It seems if anyone wants to help a homosexual, he actually hates him:

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52711

"The reality today is that growing secularist intolerance threatens to redefine Judeo-Christian beliefs as 'prejudice, intolerance,' or worse, 'hatred.'"
I went on to say:

As far as fairness goes, the forum is fair in your opinion, and those that are likeminded with you. There is no freedom of speech here for a christian that wants to state what they honestly believe -- your rules forbid that.

Take my last thread for example -- it was cordial, well researched, well written, and had been peer reviewed. You had it conveniently deleted, and would not even respond to my PM.
In a private message, another Christian gentleman quoted my words and said strangely this was his exact same experience at sciforums.com, after visiting there for only a short period of time. In a vain public-relations attempt, The moderator went on to say how fair his web sub-forum was, but apparently he can't own up to it, because he deleted that post -- he simply had no defense.

Well anyway on a scale of one to ten, I give this "sciforums community" eight tombstones. When you leave that graveyard, shake the dirt from your feet. You'll be glad you did.

PS: please remember to recount your experiences as well.

Well, when you post about how much you hate a group of people, you shouldn't be surprised to get negative reactions. Nor should you be surprised by even stronger negative reactions when you claim to be christian and use your belief in God as an excuse for your behavior.

There is no christian persecution on the internet. Heck, I actively post on an atheist-centered message board (IIDB) and have never felt persecuted.

You say this thread is hateful:

http://foru.ms/t5937390-church-of-th...by-part-2.html

In your opinion, what can be done to make it more loving? The opening message is that Jesus died for sinners -- that is to say God judged sin on the cross so that sinners could be reconciled to Him.

I am open to your helpful suggestions if you have any you would like to share.

Heck. Having a post deleted is not, again not, persecution.

Having to have worship services in secret in the dead of night and conducted in whispers in case the authorities overhear and beat you all up is persecution.

Having your home taken away from you because you became a Christian is persecution.

Being denied the opportunity to get a decent job because you are a Christian is persecution.

Being raped and then burnt alive because you committed your life to Christ is persecution.

Being threatened with death daily is persecution

Having three generations of your family put into a prison camp just because you own a Bible is persecution.

Being committed of crimes you didn't commit is persecution

And you are moaning because you had a message deleted??? If you find the internet that bad, don't use it. But please, please don't claim you're persecuted. Because that takes away the publicity from those who really are living every day in fear of their lives because they dare to follow Christ, and it belittles what they go through.

All of those things are persecution, and I have experienced some of them personally.

Nothing takes away from the glory in Jesus Christ. Believers are NOT competing for His attention, though you make it sound that way. kinda dumb really

Apparantly you don't like the message that Jesus died for sinners, and you don't think christians can be persecuted with propaganda.

Amen my brother! And it just keeps getting worse all the time!

Another very unfriendly to Christians forum is the Off-Topic Forum at Apolyton.net.

Or better yet, try the Community Forum at www.macrumors.com. So uncool.

On a scale of zero to ten tombstones (zero being church and 10 being Sodom) how would you rate them for the unfriendliness factor? Out of ten posts about christianity what percentage includes sarcasm, belittlement, criticism, calling christians bigots, personal attacks, etc, etc.

By the way, CFs own ethics and morality sub-forum for the general public gets about eight tombstones as well. The christian ethics and morality section gets about a five. Believe it or not, so-called christians have terrible things to say about the bible and its gay-bashing prophets.

Apolyton gets an 8 out of 10 tombstones. There are a lot of nasty trolls on that site that are merciless against Christians. Even worse, the moderators and adminstrators themselves are trolls and trolling is actually encouraged on the site. Though, I was never banned from the site for prolyzetizing; I just got tired of being treated like a worthless pile of rubble and eventually left the site with an attitude like, "Let some other Christian deal with these troublemakers because this is definitely not for me. I'll just have to pray for them." And sometimes, that's all you can do, unfortunately.

Macrumors gets 9 out of 10 tombstones. They have many of the same problems that Apolyton has, except the admin and moderator teams do not endorse or encourage trolling, even though it does happen on the site. I give it a 9 out of 10 because I eventually got banned from the site for too much prolyzetizing; it took a while for it to happen, but it happened after a few months, though not immediately.

I know what you mean bro. I've been a victim of this kind of treatment by so-called christians myself right here on Christian Forums. It really stinks!
