Question why worry?!

ok...i know god...i know the stories in the bible... i know about healing...and prayers.. i believe in those. What i don't do is... 'participate'. i've have done foundation readings, said the sinners prayer, i go to church occasionally, i go christian events occasionally. At night i do pray, not for just the sake of it... but i do mean it.
So.. i get friends and families worrying about me getting saved ...going to heaven kinda thing. But i thought believers are suppose to put these 'plans' in god's hands... and not worry about it.

Being a Christian is not about worrying....God gave us so much and continues to keep on giving....I give back to him out of love....In all things if you do them in love the outcome will be great. We are to be thankful in all thing not thankful for all things but thankful in all things. Let the Holy Spirit guide you, say your prayers and put your trust in God. Give your problems, worries, cares to God. God takes care of those who give their life to Him. Faith, love and hope.

What are the reasons for them questioning your salvation? Is it because you go to church "occasionally"? Not going to church regularly may be one of the reasons.

Furthermore, if you are having any doubts about your salvation, consider the conditions for a true salvation experience. First of all, you must Believe, that Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for sin for those that believe and that God raised Him from the dead. Second, you must Repent and accept Jesus as Lord of your life, master of all your actions. You must feel true sorrow for your sins, ask forgiveness, and ask God to help you to never return to these sins. This doesn't mean you're perfect, just that you have a new power from God to resist these sins, His Holy Spirit. As a result, your life should be transformed; you no longer wish to sin and hate it when you do. New fruits should start to pop up in your life such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.

Of course, no one can tell you whether or not you're saved or make the decision for you; that's between you and God. Don't get discouraged, just continue to pray; ask God to show you the truth, and He can take you there. Being a Christian is truly a wonderful thing. Just recently I became a true Christian. There is nothing that compares to the hope and peace that comes from God in a secure relationship with Him.... I hope this helps you.

Newbie,

Not everyone is on fire for God all the time. Some people are just happy not doing anything but just go to church and be benchwarmers. Maybe you should question if you have truly accepted Christ?

I have a couple of questions. First, what are you praying when you pray?
Second, how occasional is your visit to church?
Third, what is your attitude at church? Are you glad, sad, or just making an appearance?
Fourth, since you pray at night, what are you doing during the day? Are you hanging out? Are you partying? Do you sit around and watch tv all day? What do you do all day?
Fifth, how are you spending your weekends?

You say you said the sinners prayer. Did you take it to heart and
repent of all your sins?
Have you been baptized?
Are you trying to do God's will or are you just living day to day come what may?
There are a lot of questions that need to be answered here before the truth of what your family is saying can be determined.
God Bless you.
God loves you.

I think I had that same problem a ways back. I said the 'sinners prayer'. I went to church. And I thought to myself Man, I got this done with! Being a Christian is a piece 'o cake!

Then someone brought it up that one of the key parts to salvation is the fact that we need to live FOR God. I was shocked. 5+ years I would do exactly as you do.

It's only looking back that I say to myself ... How could I have done that? I ruined Your name for so many people God.

Live for God man. Live for God.

God bless!

Newbie,
If youi have the Holy Ghost and you are willing, He will guide you,
and He will lead you in the ways you will want to go, assuming you listen and pay credence to Him. So, in other words there is nothing to worry about. God will take care of you.
God bless you and guide you in times to come.
