Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | MMORPGs Which MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) do you play? Do you like these versus the more traditional computer/console RPGs that are single player? Would you say these hold up against some P&P games?
Currently, I play ShadowBane, which was put together by Wolf Pack Studios and UbiSoft Inc. So far this is the best MMORPG, RPG, and honestly the best Computer game I've ever played. I find that it's quite interesting as you get the freewill to do as you please through out an immense environment full of creatures, other players, and a quite very realistic political system (at least as far as how things happen between the various guilds).
Well, just thought I'd mention something of interest. |

Reps: 6,276 (power: 22) | | | I don't currently play any mmorpgs, and honestly I'm worried about getting all my free time sucked into a vortex of pointlessness, still, all the same I'm tempted to give WoW a try when it comes out, dunno.

Reps: 61 (power: 0) | | I haven’t played shadowBand. Some of the reviews were not too great on release so I passed it up. I hear some of the players giving good reviews of it though. I don’t know anyone personally that is playing it though.
I played Ultima Online for over four years but left after they released Age of Shadows. I was really big into the trade skills such as blacksmithing but they pretty much ruined it to the point where you cant sell a thing any longer. It was fun it its day. It was pretty fun sharing my faith with others in the game and with those in the guilds I played with. They are releasing Ultima X:O next year but it’s shaping up to be a pure mmog hack and slash game with no real economy so I doubt I’ll be giving it a try.
EQ for two years and still having fun. I play a Ranger and a Cleric and try hard not to let the game eat up all my time. I belong to a small Christian guild and when I return later next month (taking short break) I have my eye on a second Christian guild I may join as well. I’m looking forward to EQ2 especially since they will be offering player owned ships like I had in UO. I like playing a good guy Pirate the most so it should be interesting. Good guy pirate?!? hehe Robin Hood of the sea I suppose.
Played AC2 but to date its still full of bugs and seriously lacking in content. But if you like having a dungeon all to yourself, well no one else is around playing the game.
World War II Online is fun. It’s a lot like Battlefield 1942 but with a lot of other players on the battlefield. You could sit and guard a city for an hour with out any action and then all of the sudden be under siege by 50 enemy players and a cut supply line.
I also play a little tibia and The 4th Coming, which you can play for free. They are very out dated in graphics but they play very well on my laptop when I just need a break and don’t really want to start up my desktop computer.
Main reason I play MMORP Games is because I found out I can save a lot of money each year with subscriptions and expansions compared to buying traditional computer games that don’t seem to hold my interest too long. MMOG’s are always adding new content and there are always new ways to play the same old game keeping it reasonably fresh. I also like the idea that I can play with other people in the social setting, as it is, giving me the option of pick and choose whom I play with in the virtual world setting. Ehh, it works for me.
Oh, I left out a few other games but maybe for another time.
cya on the net!

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | I play Star Wars Galaxies right now, but they have numerous glitches and way to many newbies who are just playing it because they are Star Wars freakboys (no offense anyone). I loved EQ and still play it now. I have a level 60 Ranger and a level 49 Shaman. I can't wait for EQ2 but I don't think that FFXI is going to be very good. |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | Hmm............. I guess not everyone that chooses to reply will honestly share an opinion on the relatively positive side so .......eh. We're all entitled to our own opinions.
Hey Sniper, What guild are you with in Star Wars Galaxies? I haven't played it yet. What's it like? I have a know a few guild members from WotS (Wielders of the Sword) that are playing but aside from them I know nothing of how that game is. Which side is currently dominating, is it too early to tell, or is it a stalemate already?
Hope to hear from you soon. |

Reps: 1,337,528,791,065,529 (power: 1,337,528,791,074) | | I played EQ for a very long time. I had a 63 cleric as well as a few other high 50's characters (warrior, druid, necro, you name it ) on the Luclin server.
After I dumped EQ (which was VERY hard for me...) I played DAoC for awhile. I played a 50 Armsman on Tristan Server. It was ok, but DAoC lacked alot of in-depth play.
From there, I moved on to ShadowBane and played a high 40's thief. ShadowBane also lacked alot in gameplay so I was quickly bored with it.
From there I went back to EQ for awhile and started a new character and all. I got up to 40 something with an Enchanter before quitting again.
As of now, Im looking forword to playing Horizons and/or EQ2, whichever has better game play. The thing I liked about EQ was that it was so HUGE! You could play for years and litereally never go everywhere. I can still remember great times with friends up in NToV or those late night armor runs in Kael. Good times, good times.
If anyone is interested in playing Horizons or EQ2 when they come out and want to start a "Christian" guild I think it could be alot of fun. PM me or e-mail me or whatnot . You can usually find me here on CF at the OBOB forum.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Hmmm… I’ve been actually considering starting a guild in EQ2 with other Christians. That’s still such a long time off though and I may not do it until a few months after release. I just want to make sure I like the game before I spend money for a pay commercial web site to put up the guild web pages, email, FTP, DNS as well a forums like we have here. I’ve been doing the officer/leader role for nearly four years and it really is a lot of work and commitment. It’s alot of fun if it’s well organized and staffed with good officers. |
