Reps: 26,771 (power: 42) | | | Why does the universe exist? I have seen people arguing over the different theories of the beginning of the universe, etc. Has anybody argued over why the universe exists? I think it was God's way of giving us a spectacular gift to occupy our time.

The trouble I had with that thread, when reading it, was that it seemed to address more of a "how", ie "Deity. A God or Gods created the universe". Just one example.
I'm more focusing on the "why". What purpose does it really serve? We don't need it to exist. We'd be happy with a couple of celestial bodies and a sun.
