I got my car licence today! Awesome! I have to drive supervised for 6 months but hey, the time will fly, then I'll be able to drive on my own! Great! Well, that's my bit of news, anyone else here have any news to livin' things up? |

Congratulations! I have to get a master cylinder for my brakes in my '87 Acura, (almost as old as you are!).
The weather is PERFECT in Colorado right now, we're going out this afternoon to one of those magnificent corn mazes and try to get through. |

Corn maze? How is this set up? Done in a local grower's field? The weather is beautiful here in Texas as well. About 78 degrees, with a cool northerly breeze. I'll be taking my youngest son out to the NHRA point races tonight at our local dragstrip. We also have a balloon- fest going on nearby that has about 50 hot air balloons that took off this morning. They were beautiful!
Hope everybody has a good week-end!

Sorry you are having a rainy day. Our lakes around here are sooo low and we are on water restrictions for any outside water use, I would gladly trade for a few days of rain if I could so you could have some sunshine.
Hope you can find a good movie on TV or can rent one. My wife is stuck on the Turner Classic Movie channel today.

Alfred
My kids have been watching Pokemon.
I have some good cassettes that contain homilies by Fr. Athanasios Mitilinaios from Larisa, Greece. I have a couple of Geronda Ephraim's too. Translated of course. There is a whole collection (over 100 tapes) on the book of Revelation. They are very edifying. |

Reps: 543 (power: 0) | | Now all I need is some money so I can start driving. How does licencing work where each of you are from?
I had to sit a 35 question paper and pass, (I got 35 out of 35!), which enables me to drive, but only with a supervisor, which is anyone who has a licence, and they sit next to me. This is for 6 months.
After 6 months I have to pass a 20 minute driving test, which means I can drive on my own but not carry and passengers who don't have a licence, or drive between the hours of 10 pm and 5 am. This lasts for 12 months, or 6 months if I go to Drivers College.
After this I have to pass a 1 1/2 hour driving test, then I can drive on my own. |

They have a fair number of tapes from many different speakers. I have purchased about thirty tapes over the past several years, but they will also let you borrow tapes for two weeks and you only have to pay for the postage. We love to listen to them while driving.
It has been awhile since I ordered from them so I am assuming they are still in business. I have some wonderful talks by Bishop Kalistos Ware, Fr. James Bernstein, and Fr. Thomas Hopko. You might look them up on the internet or their e-mail is OCcassette@aol.com (or at least thats what it used to be). They have a catalogue to send out.
Well, off to the drag races....and Matthias...NO DRAG RACING FOR YOU!

The "learners permit" is where you have to have a licensed driver with you, or you have to be going to or from work or school. (Unless things have changed recently) I waited until I was in college before I got my license. I went to driving school and took both tests at once, so I never had to be accompanied by another driver after I took the test. (Maybe I should have been though!)
Alfred, thanks bunches for the info. I will definitely look into it. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
