Mark, you behave like this "satan" character fundies drone on about, you take a whole bushel of truth and add a sprinkling of lies.
We aren't "fundies", we are fundamentalists.

But you are an evolutionist. What else do I call someone who believes in evolution?

I'd rather the term "fundamentalist". If you call me anything else, you're just being rude. I've never done anything to harm you or anyone else. Some ignorant atheist once said that he'd rather I blow up planes into towers than believe in 6 day creation though. Do you agree with him?

Why is it that atheists are always seen as reasonable? This is obviously not always true.

Yea, not all atheists are reasonable, or nice.

And that is exactly how I feel when called an "evolutionist" or "darwinianist". These are made up terms invented by creationists as a form of belittlement. What I am is a scientist who accepts the ToE as being the model which best fits the observable facts. I will also answer to "atheist".

My point, regardless, stands. Stop using the terms I dislike, and I will stop using those you dislike.

--and note in the spirit of co-operation I have not used said word in this post.

Where are they always seen as reasonable? Last time I looked, atheists were human beings, and came with the full range of personality types.

Not really. Talk.Origins uses the term all the time. They are pretty proud of it too.

(Oh man... It's Eugenie Scott... Wow, she really ticks me off)

It's a public image.

From the quoted article:
'Plus he is operating from the creationist enthusiasm for authority ("if famous scientist X says it, it has to be true.")'

Eugenie Scott's decision to play in the opposition's sandpit does not invalidate my original claim.

My original point holds true. I find the term insulting. If you insist on throwing that stone, I shall throw some of my own.

I dont agree with the terms myself but you're right, Dawkins talks about learning about "Darwinism" and being a "Darwinist".
