Halloween for Christians?

There are people who dress up and act the part of the hollywood vampire for kicks. I'm not sure if the blood drinking is real or just rumour. The really telling difference is that these people can easily walk in daylight, and they have to use fake fangs or dental appliances. To the best of my knowledge these people can put on regular clothes and go to lunch at an outside restaurant and have no trouble eating a ceasar salad.

but here it goes:
Besides our Christians views and beliefs I find the whole day a pain in the ___. I work in school, do you have any idea what kids are like as the "big day" approaches. Not to mention the sugar high they are all on for weeks afterwards. The noise level in the building goes through the roof

It comes right before the big holidays ,Thanksgiving & Christmas, and it has gotten down right expensive and hectic. Since Nov, Dec and Jan are so busy I'd rather bow out in OCT.

When I was a kid we celebrated it. We always made our own costumes, they were great. Now I see people who spend big bucks on elaborate costumes for their kids and begin making them 5 months early.

How can you both spend big bucks on a costume and spend five months making them at the same time? Not to mention a sugar high that lasts for months?????? Sounds better than street drugs and much cheaper.

I can't believe I am reading two threads filled with so much misinformation at once. The D&D thread is almost as bad. As havoc said, there are people, who participate in "role playing" vampires. But almost all of this is part of a complex political structure, and groups vying for power. And there is NO blood drinking and even touching fellow players AT ALL is not allowed.

That's Ok, I think it's silly and immature for people to run around calling themselves Christians.

I am a Witch. Probably not the hollywood version you think of, nor the Christian propaganda version, but a Witch ne'ertheless.

I'm not sure what connection you think there is between Witches, who are adherants to a set of actual religions that are practiced by millions of people, and vampires, which are fictional creatures born out of the terror Christians hold for the night...

But I've never been able to figure out most of the ridiculous things Christians believe about other religions.

I just wonder sometimes how quickly Christianity would collapse and be like dust in the wind if they every stopped be afraid of their God and death? I think that without the constant threat of hell and damanation they just don't have any reason to keep believing in all of the folderol do they? Can you imagine? In six months the churches would empty out and the rest of us wouldn't have to put up with the constant effort to undermine our freedom.

Diatrive, you are right about rpging but I'm not sure that the players of Vampire the Masquerade are the ppl in question. There are people, an extremity of the goth culture, who call themselves vampyres, that sometimes drink blood.

I have an idea, if you dont like being around Christians then go away. This is "CHRISTIAN FORUMS" after all. I am sure there is a lot of evil sites out there that you could be comfortable indwelling.
