Sometimes he has these dreams, where he can feel something holding him down...
I usually wake up hearing him praying in his sleep, saying things like Jesus, Holy Spirit, then he starts speaking in tongues... or praying... I should say...
When I would ask him what happened, he would just say it just feels like something is holding him.
He can't see it, just feel it.
He used to get them a lot ages ago, and now he just had one the other night.
Just before I woke up and heard him praying... I just finished having a dream where I was trying to fight with him because I didn't like the programme that he was watching on TV. I can't even rememeber what the programme was now.
This is called sleep paralysis. you might want to look it up.
The scientific explanation of this is that a person is awake but they are in a between sleep and awake stage. Thus the body is paralyzed and can't move and has the sensation that they are being held down.
Personally I think this is a demonic attack. I have experienced this before and every time it happened I called on the name of Jesus and whatever was bothering me left. You guys need to pray about this. Are there any Items in your households that may draw attention to evil spirits? There was a Ouija board in my house and I think that was possibly the cause of it.

Both incidents were in 1985 and I remember them quite clearly. I will recant the first-
I was not a Christian. I was in the Navy.
I was living in the 1st unit of an apartment by myself in Georgia.
I was recently seperated from my 1st wife.
It was late in the evening, and I had just laid down on my bed (alone).
I closed my eyes (not yet asleep) and laid there for awhile, when I heard someone walking up the sidewalk, then turn and head towards my front door.
This was unusual because I lived in an end unit and the only other rented unit in my building on my side was at the opposite end. The 3rd unit had not been rented because the 2nd unit (directly beside mine) had recently been a crime scene . My next door neighbor had recently been discharged from the Navy on a "Gay" discharge. On New Years Eve he committed suicide (gun/head wound).
So, it was unusual to hear footsteps on my sidewalk at that time of night, but what happened next I never expected.
My extremeties started tingling (a truly odd sensation, like being stoned). I heard the footsteps walk up to my door, then "someone" opened the door and walked in.
I know for a fact that I locked that door!
No key, no nothing, "it" just turned the knob and walked in. At this point, I knew an intruder was in my apartment, and I wanted to confront them, but when I tried to get up I couldn't move! It was as if I was being held down by unseen hands all along my body.
I saw a shadow move down the hall wall, I heard the footsteps turn and walk towards my kitchen/dining area, then turned and waked back towards the single bedroom. I tried my hardest to get up, but it was as if a huge weight was on my chest as the invisible "hands" held me down.
I couldn't move anything but my eyes. A dark form appeared in the doorway of my room. In utter fear like I have never known before I tried to scream, but no sound came out.
The form walked into the room and stood beside the bed. It had a human shape, but no discernable features. It stood beside the bed close enough that it could have touched me. My body tingled madly like nothing I've ever felt.
In my mind I feverishly begged God to help me, to save me. **Remember I wasn't a Christian.
The shape turned, and walked slowly and purposefully out of my room, then opened and walked out the door. As I listened intently the footsteps faded away into the distance the same way they had came. The farther away it went, the less I tingled. When I could no longer hear the footsteps, I was finally able to move. I ran to the door and checked it. It was securely locked.
I looked outside- there was no one in sight.
To say I was confused and scared would be an extreme understatement!!!

wow, Ive never heard of a demonic attack this bad!! Thank God you're ok! Anyone who experiences "sleep paralysis" needs to immediately call on the name of Jesus.

I am not certain whether or not a "gateway" is needed for such activity to occur. My second account was several months later, and I had moved from my apartment to a home in a different, but nearby town.
This time I had been asleep for a few hours.
I awakened in fear already tingling, already being held down, and with the foreknowledge that I was not alone in my bedroom. I don't know what exactly awakened me. A sound? A presence? I'm not sure. All I know is that it is a very frightening experience.
Once again, all I could move was my eyes. The only light in the room was from moonlight through the curtains which covered my closed window. As I laid on my back, what I saw this time was a small formless white shape, about 2-3 feet in diameter hovering near the ceiling beside the entrance to my bedroom. It kind of pulsated in different directions, but stayed pretty much a round mass of light; Kind of what you would see if you formed a ball of seperate fractal images. That's the best description I can give. The area where it was, the moonlight couldn't hit, and there were no mirrors in my bedroom.
This time, I immediately began praying. For how long I prayed, I do not know, all I know is that I was scared to death and it seemed that I had to pray much longer than I did during the first incident.
After several minutes of begging the Lord for help, suddenly this "mass" let out a shriek; a high-pitched scream like nothing I have ever heard before, or since, as it swooped down, past my face, and disappeared through the wall.
Then, the sound was gone.
The tingling was gone.
I could move my body again.
I jumped out of bed, threw on clothing, grabbed my keys, and went to stay with a friend and his family for the night.
