Help my friend is bulemic

I just got done talking to my friend of 16 years. She is bulemic and anorexic, and I don't know what to do. I don't go to the same college as her so I only see her like once a month, therefore, I can't keep an eye on her. I can't tell her family, because she has a very strict Cuban father and Arabic mother. They are Christians, but I think telling them would only make things worse. That would totally ruin our friendship as well, and probably put her into a deeper depression. It's not that I mind hurting the friendship to help her, but in this case I don't really think it will help. I don't know anyone that goes to her college and it's not a Christian college, so I can't tell anyone there to look out for her. I am really worried about her, and I don't know what to do. Do you have any advice?

Bulemia is serious. I would tell her you love her too much to let this continue because you feel responsible for doing nothing to help. Tell her to get help or you'll turn her in to her parents. Then check up on her to see if she's getting help or if you have to tell her parents. Every parent wants the best for their children. Her parents will probably force her into getting help which is better than letting this continue, even if it harms your friendship with her. She will eventually recognize your good deed.

Man we've got a lot of eating disorders here too.
All I can think to say is stay on her and encourage her.
I don't know enough of the psychology of ED's to say much else.
I doubt the way the media portrays women helps out at all.
