Got baptized when I was about 12 (because a friend had made that choice and decided she did not want to go it alone; talked myself into believing that I knew what I was doing before I did it. Only God knows for sure.). Came to full acceptance and submission of God's sovereignty, mercy and grace when I was 20. It's been a wild and bumpy ride ever since, including - but not limited to - a very brief lack of belief in God altogether around the age of 25 and with white knuckles and all, came gripping back. |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | I said the sinners prayer when I was 4 years old but went through many years as a rebellious hellion. I was freed from drugs and alcohol about 3 years ago and gave my life to Him. It has been quite a ride so far....

Reps: 129,823,272,451 (power: 129,823,273) | | Well, the year on my profile is 1963, which is the year I stopped denying my Maker and first prayed a sincere prayer. That was 46 years ago this month. But I had a lot of spiritual growing to do, much to learn, much to repent of.
For years, I went to a church that taught a doctrine that showed me I had to be saved over and over again, because Ill admit it: I was not perfect. Everyone else thought they were, so I could not figure out what was wrong with me. Then I finally figured it out: they messed up, too -- some more often than others, some worse than others.
But growing up with a doctrine like that can really cause confusion! Glad all that is in the past!

Reps: 91,203,933,320 (power: 91,203,934) | | Less than a year. I have been raised christian but somehow lost my faith along the way when I was fairly young. I was agnostic for a long time, striving to no longer doubt and fall to one side: christianity or athiesm. With the help and guidance of my friends, I was able to reunite with Christ.
