For me, if you look at dealer markup on the g8 around here, I think I would rather have a SRT8 charger that was a year or two old and have more power
There are no mark ups here.
A G8 GT with a 6 litre V8 will cost close to $30,000. Any SRT8 will run about $45,000 plus. Next year with the G8 GXP the engine will be the LS3 with a 6.2 litre and the increased HP which will compete solidly with any SRT8. They are also making other adjustments to this model with Brembo brakes all around and other nice touches. I expect to get a great car for under $40,000 with all the 'bang' and luxury of other cars priced over $45,000.

Interestingly enough... when I had my 2001 TA I raced a SRT8 charger and even though it is quick it was not as quick as my TA. I think this was due to the weight difference with the charger being much heavier.
