Reps: 3,067 (power: 15) | | What Can I Do? I have a problem that I have to face quite often. One of my good friend's who is a former Catholic, who has now turned his back on Christinanity. Talks to me often about things that go against what I know is right. He will talk to me about anything from, how Muhammad was a messenger of God etc. Things like that. Now because I care for him, I feel the need to fight him on these points, and I can never just let them slide. The problem is that when I do this, I feel drained and rather un-happy. I do not like arguing, particularly over something I hold so dear, which is my faith in Chirst. But I can't help but want to see him saved. So doesn't anybody have any suggestions on what I can do, before I go crazy? Thanks

Trust in God.
My prayers for both of you,
Elizabeth

Hi Andreas,
I hope this will help you. I do not have any wisdom of my own, because I am stupid and always placing my foot in my mouth. But here is a quote from a book called My Life in Christ by St. John of Kronstadt. This book is a collection of entries from his journal. When I read your problem I thought of this passage I read the other night:
"If you wish to correct anyone from his faults, do not think of correcting him solely by your own means: you would only do harm by your own passions, for instance, by pride and by the irritability arising from it; "but cast thy burden upon the Lord," and pray to God "Who trieth the hearts and reins," with all your heart, that He Himself may enlighten the mind and heart of that man. If He sees that your prayer breathes love, and that it really comes from the depth of your heart, He will infallibly fulfill the desire of your heart, and you yourself will soon tell, seeing the change that has taken place in him for whom you have prayed, that it is the work of "the right hand of God, the Most High."
God Bless, and remember me also in your prayers,
photini |

I needed that quote from St. John.
Thanks.
