I think nothing less of those who pierce and tatoo themselves, but I personally would not do it. Mainly because I think after a certain age, unless it is a symbol that is perhaps religious in nature, it seems very cheesy. I know a girl my age who got a tattoo of a butterfly on her back. How will that look when she is a 70 year old grandmother?

"Let us who mystically represent the cherubim and sing the Thrice-holy Hymn to the life-giving trinity, now lay aside all cares of life, that we may receive the King of all, escorted invisibly by ranks of angels, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia."
-- The Cherubic Hymn, Liturgy of St John Chrysostom --

I think that is just like how Adam and Eve felt in the garden
And look at the trouble they got us into.
They repented in the end. That's what counts.
