Father John's retelling of the Ethiopian woman was priceless.
His conclusion couldn't have been worded better: It is just my opinion, not to be construed as doctrine of course, that tattoos and unusual piercings will meet the same fate as polyester leisure suits and gold chains or heavy black eye makeup and green spiked hair: "In" today, "out" tomorrow, "forgotten" for the next decade, "resurface" a few years later. In short, bad taste is usually seen for what it is, while good taste transcends the moment.
I've seen some of those green spiked hairdos worn by a few freshmen at our university. They don't last very long!

With my tattoo I am showing that I will never deny my faith. I realize I did not have to get it for Christ to know I love him. |

We do regard the body as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. However, we also avoid legalistic rules.

You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD.

HUH? I was only asking a simple question, I was not asking to insult, just for clarification.
I sincerely apologize for wounding your sensitivities.

Written to the priest of leviticus due to the fact that back then men tattooed themselves to show honor to thier pagan Gods.
If priest would be seen with markings, it owuld cause people to think they are pagan.
Not only was that to levitcus, but that was a law we are no longer under.

Certainly not !
In fact it is precisely that we do regard the body as the temple that we do not cremate our dead, and that we honor the relics of departed Saints. The body is the physical shell that holds the image of God within it.
