Matthew 27:56:
among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
Now read this:
Galatians 1:19:
But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother.
Mark 6:3:
Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.
If James is the son of Mary (Not Magdelene) and Jesus is James' brother, then that would mean the other Mary is Jesus' mom as well.
View this as well:
John 19:25-27: 25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” 27 Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.
So, you can see here also that Jesus' mother was the mother of one of His disciples too. (James) And, verse 25 shows that Mary Magdalene and Jesus' mother are 2 different people.
Well, I have had some good debates in this forum. I appreciate them all, for it has made me search even harder for the truth. Everyday, my knowledge of scripture grows. And I still have a long ways to go.
We are all in this together. I pray that someday, we will ALL enter the kingdom of God, hand in hand, with all strife forgotten.
I honestly believe that what I have in me is from God. For me not to follow my heart, would go against everything in my heart. I hope everyone understands my conviction.
Anyways, God is keeping me busy. I am in "the field" more everyday, walking with greater confidence in each step. But no matter what the argument, and how great the disagreement, we are all seeking God.
With that, I dust off my feet, and move to the next town.
Peace, be with you all.
Steve.
