Hi I’m 21. Recently completed my mechanical engineering UG course… I’m planning go back to college after 3 or 4 years to pursue an MBA In the mean time I’ll be working for a software firm
I’m a Dravidian Tamil living in southern India.
During my teens I had became averse to Hinduism (my religion of birth), bcoz I felt it is an Aryan religion and no self-respecting Dravidian should follow it, though I didn’t know much abt the religion ( I was kind of a racist then).
Was interested in Mahayana Buddhism for a brief period… My fascination with Hinduism began when I stumbled upon the mahvakya(great pronouncement), Aham Brahmasmi -I am God- while reading some meditation texts. I was appalled. But I read more about it and got really interested towards Advaita.
In the past year I’ve realized Hinduism is not wholly an Aryan religion but only a mixture of different school of thoughts and faiths practised in my country, which includes Tamil Saiva Siddhantha , which is the south Indian equivalent of Advaita.
Oh by the way I’m really loquacious, which you must have realized already by now
I'm my parents' only child. Sometimes it's boring to be without any siblings . But having too many friends eases away the loneliness...
I'm a bit late to the game but as they say, better late than never.
My name is Sarah and I converted from Judaism to Islam. I am presently in my second year of medical school and Inshallah by next January I will be in my third year.
There really isn't much more to add but if anyone has any burning questions they want answered feel free to ask.
Always have been a Hindu but I love Jesus. Was using the Catholic icon for some time even but realized that Hinduism is where my heart truly lies.
Wow, you have no idea how happy I am that you've shared this with us. Lately I've been thinking exactly the same thing. I've tried so hard to be a Christian but I constantly feel that Mother Kali is calling me home...
Namaste, it is good to meet you.
WF

My name is Electra and I've tried to be Christian but it's not been working very well for me.
So right now I am a seeker. I don't know what to believe, I am trying to find a path in this confusing world.

I live in a sea-side town... I've always felt there is nothing more relaxing than watching the sea in the evening....
Ok, i think i'm gonna chatter forever if i don't stop now
Welcome bro. I like the point you made about Hinduism. I too am Dravidian and Hinduism is an amalgamation of the Dravidian and Aryan traditions...after all even the name "Siva(Shiva)" derives from "Sivappu".
And most of the greatest Hindu temples were Built by the Thamizh kings anyways, the same kings who nurtured and defended Hinduism from th Invading Islamic armies that razed Hindu temples by the thousands . so yeah I'm proud to be Thamizh and Hindu
you would love this video, check this out(and disregard what the narrator says about Hinduism though.....they take a very shallow and ill informed look at it..they even claim that the temple they speak about is a "lost temple that was found recently".LOL...but it has been used for thousand years or more.., but this video has some really awesome stuff about Hindu temples in south India......about temples which are 200 times the size of the Taj-Mahal!...the first 2-3 mins of the video are not directly related to the rest of it.lol)
btw..where in Thamizh nadu are you at? is it KanniyaKumari by any chance?

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself. My name is Renatta(which means "born again, ironically), I'm 26 years old, and currently work at Wal-mart.
I was raised Baptist, but as I grew older I started drifting away from that. My beliefs now are a mixture of Christianity, New Age, and Pagan -- and although it's confusing right now I'm fairly content about it.
