People are born with tails occasionally. This is not really new. here is clip from a straight dope article about it.
Still, at one point in his/her life, every human being does have a tail. Human embryos have a tail that measures about one-sixth of the size of the embryo itself. As the embryo develops into a fetus, the tail is absorbed by the growing body, but some traces remain even in adults. Occasionally, a child is born with a "soft tail," described by one embryologist as containing "no vertebrae, but blood vessels, muscles, and nerves, of the same consistency as the short tail of the Barbary ape." Modern procedures allow doctors to eliminate the tail at birth, but some children have had to learn to live with them. The longest human tail on record belonged to a twelve-year-old boy living in what was then Indochina; he boasted nine inches, which was probably enough to make him very, very popular.
I just want to say thank you to Chuck_Darwin and others who have taken this thread seriously. We live in a diverse world and I am thankful for a forum where we have freedom to express our views and have meaningful conversations about even theories that we may find impossible or highly suspect.
Maybe some of them are just born that way and I don't think they're seeds of Satan or anything like that....so...are siamese twins Seeds of Satan too? Maybe after all these years genes got a little strange or something and this happened. I mean...wouldn't it be really sad if a Christian couple gave birth to a lil kid with six toes or something? How would they react?

There are certain common birth abnormalities when there is inbreeding. Among the amish, there is a higher incidence of six fingers and midgets. Also a higher incidence of a certain disease which I can't recall the name of now. The amish marry first cousins and that is the reason cited in my science textbook from college.
I think that these type of birth abnormalities are considered to be of a different catagory than some of the ones discussed earlier in this thread. One would have to assume mutation or recessive genes or something.
But from a spiritual perspective it brings up a very interesting question I think. There is a well known verse in Exodus 4:11
" And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind ? have not I the LORD? "
This verse is a great comfort to many that they are not a mistake but precious in God's eyes. The question is often raised about birth defects when discussing the goodness of God. Do children suffer for the sins of their parents? HMMMM. Tough question.
This thread is more fun than those tabloid newspapers the grocery store sells!
I completely agree. I am a science fiction fan myself and think this all would make the most interesting science fiction series.
I mean no disrespect to the seriousness of this subject. I am serious. this is interesting stuff.
Thank you for this thread jhessel. I find it a very interesting topic. I am not sure I agree with all your conclusions but I am open minded enough to think that are perhaps some things which I don't understand or know about the world. Certainly any serious bible student has struggled with the passages you refer to in this thread attempting to make sense out of them.
I myself, think you make some very valid points but am skeptical of your overall conclusion.
no problem! i am only presenting a different view of the world from what is mainstream.
good thing this thread didn't get deleted because it looked like Miss Shelby (moderator) was going to delete it because she considered it "ridiculous" (if it is out of the mainstream it is ridiculous and worthy of being deleted?) good thing it didnt, free speech prevailed, and it got some people interested on the subject
I got interested on the subject when I saw the movie "clash of the titans" for the first time. It got me interested in mythology. I started searching for information and then i found out the connections between the gods of mythology and the stories of the book of enoch/bible, and how in so many ancient cultures there are legends of these beings. Then i started putting together the pieces of the puzzle (and it got more interesting as i found the connections to the pyramids/nazism/creation coverup)

I am glad it didn't get deleted. Thank you Miss Shelby.
Jhessel, I suggest you be very cautious about commenting about moderator decisions other than in private messages to them. I remember reading about that in the forum rules. I am thankful we have a moderated forum here. Sometimes the moderators are not perfect but this is tons better than message boards where there was no moderating going on.
Anyway, I am happy with the decision to keep this thread open. I find it very interesting.
--- Yep. A full grown tail without fur. Now I have to wonder how these genes got into the human gene pool since we know that we did not evolve from the animals. I think that Gen. 6. and the Book of Enoch explain in detail what happened. No oneone earth can say that this baby is fully human. As Christians we should not listen to the evolutionists explination that this gene is a result of evolving from animals. God did not create man from the animals. Only evolution promotes this myth.
threads like this make christianity look stupid, and do far more damage to christianity than an atheist could ever do. it is little more than a mindless rant, and seeing some of your other threads with aliens and lizard men in them... you are doing an awfully good job of turning people away from God.

I do agree with you on this. I believe that there are many things hinted at in the bible but not fully explained there and we are not aware of the full story.
I have always appreaciated when a pastor does research about culture and other backround material which gives context to a scripture.
I find jewish studies to be very enriching in giving me a better understanding of the new testament. I also have found studying Greek and Hebrew to be quite useful.
Sometimes I receive backround material which provides me with many hours of fasinating speculating. One of the things I look forward to about heaven is having countless things finally explained.
I do not find anything in what you have said so far to be impossible. It does however seem quite speculative. I understand that it is educated speculating an not just arbitrary wild imaginations. But myself, I still have it in the catagory of an interesting possibility.
Certainly there is meaning to those passages in Genesis. Have you ever read the midrashim concerning those passages?
Yitzchak here are links with information on the subject. The links explain things better and im sure you will find answers to any questions

click on the giant pics section to see pictures of people over 7/8 feet tall (wow over 8 foot 6 feet tall!)

My opinion is quite different. I prefer to look at it as diversity within the body of Christ. One accusation commonly made against christians is that they blindly follow a dogma. That they are closed minded. Why is it wrong to speculate about possible theories even if they seem outlandish?
