What would you do if you were gay?

Gee, NewGuy: I thought a good part of the basics of what Christians are to do was stated by Jesus in Matthew 25:31-46:

31 But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. 32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. 36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? 38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ 41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44 “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison,and didn’t help you?’

45 “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these,you didn’t do it to me.’ 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

If Matthew 25:31-46 is what it takes to be a "hippie" church, I'll gladly attend a "hippie" church any day over the self-satisfied smugness of the Exclusive Country Club of the Sanctified Elect.

I don't understand why you even quote scripture (out of context I might add...AGAIN) since you think part of the bible is a myth. Then why isn't the whole thing a myth? Who gets to choose?

Again helping people doesn't mean encouraging sin which UCC does with homosexuality and supporting abortion.

Hey NewGuy, you cannot be so oblivious to what the realities are around you. So I am not going to insult your intellegience by pulling my punches. (moderators, I am just speaking , as to realities, in life) But if you lived here in Boston and were so insulting of others, like you are. Your timetable would be shortened expotentially. Ya but the day of the white hood and whip is over. We won and we are now one nation. There should not be allowed the hatred of individual groups, whether they are Black, Jew or Gay. Reminds me of the lyrics to the old disco sonf

Well there is no place anymore, where this is No Blacks, No jews and no Gays.

"Hippie Church"? I guess you attend it to know that. Maybe you mean perhaps compared to your racist church that probably is all white? I'd love for you to come to our "hippie church" and see about 1/2 of them there are probably over 60 years old, the only 20% are there as husband/wives/kids...the rest a mix of hispanic, blacks, etc. I suppose some are gay, but they don't where ids that say that so I wouldn't know. But HARDLY hippy. My God...you really are something else.
No doubt your church is grounded in the best religion, the sermon's of truth, the best ministers, the best preaching, and oh yeah..most likely our way or hit the road. At this point I believe it's best to click the "ignore" button for you. Unless you have something of quality to write other than "so what" and "prove it" or "hippy/liberal" etc...I can't waste my time any longer

Sorry but your definition of everyone is a Christian isn't biblical. Mine is, follow the Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul.

And, of course, everyone who disagrees with your views doesn't follow God as much as you do
