I hate to crush yours, but lightsails have been investigated for powering spaceships. If you have launching lasers you can get a respectable fraction of c for final velocity. Better than what you get for conventional rockets because you don't have to carry reaction mass. Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle used the concept in their book The Mote in God's Eye.
Not to brag, well I guess I will brag, my second cousin Dana Andrews is one of the inventors of magnetic sail idea.

Oh yeah? Well my uncle was a director for Pinky and the Brain!
...until they canceled it... now he's struggling to find work, I'm not even sure what he does now.

Hmm, I understand now that what I said may not have been true.
I guess I have never really read up on the Big Bang Theory. I apologize if I have made incorrect statements.
But I will stick by my belief that the earth didnt appear because of the Big Bang.
I, like many many other christians, believe that God created the earth, as it is foretold in the bible.
I guess that is because we have faith, we believe that God is the ultimate creator.
There is Nothing in the Big Bang or science that says otherwise.
The difference, is that gods creation says that the earth wasnt created the way you think (and the way you interpret his words), but that doesnt mean he didnt do it.
But im wondering: why would a christian come up with the idea that God created the Big Bang in order to produce life? Surely that guy believed in the account of the bible, if he was christian. Perhaps he was deceived?
Then again, it is only a theory in my view.

The Big Bang has nothing to do with abiogenesis or evolution. He came up with the theory because it gave the universe a beginning.

A good quote that I stole from one of Lucaspa's posts,
"If sound science appears to contradict the Bible, we may be sure that it is our interpretation of the Bible that is at fault." Christian Observer, 1832, pg. 437;
Since, if god created the universe, and a sound study of his creation says our interpretation is wrong, then it is our interpretation of gods word and Not gods word Or gods creation that is wrong.
actually yes... there was one episode of animaniacs, where the warner bros (wacko, gacko and dot?) invented a time machine and went round changing things by accident. Anyway, one time they came acros a perfect world, where everyone was happy, and the environment was wonderful and so on... they made the comment "I wonder who is in charge" .... cue a shot to Air Force One and a man addressing the president.... guess who is in the chair
incidentally the follow up series to PATB had elmyra in it. I hate elmyra.
