Its funny, but my best freind became my freind in elementary school when he heard what I thought. His mother told my mom that he had the same idea. Do kids just have this incredible drive to explore the universe? (I think most children want to be astronaughts when they grow up.)

That freind eventually moved away and he told me in an e-mail one day in middle school that a professor had tested it. It kinda made us anrgy. I think I was watching discovery channel one time when I saw an experiment with that professor shooting an object down a cable with a laser beam.

Just an interesting story.

I wanted to travel through space too as a kid. Though your a whole lot more creative then me. I just thought :" If only I could jump real high"

You think it is ridiculous because you do not understand it.

Actually, it is not something to "believe in". You are putting it in those terms because that is how Christianity refers to its mantra, since, it has nothing other than a story to go on. The scientific meaning of the word "theory" is different than the way you use "theory". It would not even be called a "theory" unless there was compelling evidence that could not be falsified.

Do you know what "Red Shifting" is??? Well, I am sure you will look it up, now. You should of become familar with this term before you made this post. If you become familiar with that term alone you will stop and reconsider. Then, there is the background radiation of the "Big Bang." The static on an old style television ("hissing and "snow" where a program was missing) is a fossil of the Big Bang!! I could list many, many more here. Your question should not be "if" there was a Big bang, but who or what caused it.

Yes, LIGHT does travel at the speed of LIGHT, what other speed would it travel at????

I certainly do not want to be the one to crush your boyhood dream, however, there is the small problem of YOUR mass and the mass of the space ship becoming infinite!!!

You're entirely correct. Besides, Billy Preston falsified it in the early 1970s with his song, "Nothing From Nothing Leaves Nothing."

Of course it was falsified then, since of course, thats what the big bang is, right?

Perhaps the big bang was a massive fluctuation from a non observable state of the Dirac sea to an observable state, namely the Universe.

Added in edit: Or may God actually said

"Let there be a massive statistical fluctuation in the non observable Dirac sea to an observable sea, releasing energy in an observable Universe " and it just got translated as "let there be light" since that would have made a lot more sense to however wrote it down.

what's the cosmic microwave background then? why are all teh stars moving away from each other? why are all the elemental proportions the same as predicted by big bang theory?

Good one Fozzwald! (laughing). I too sometimes think that this must be where some of the apologetics in this forum originate from, songs or shows like "Touched By An Angel", I mean that is based on a true story, right?

Though I doubt I could make a living off any of those, I am probably going to minor in Relatively or Mechanics. They have always been subjects that interest me and i wouldn't be able to stand going through life without a comprehensive knowledge of them.

EDIT: And I just noticed the picture in your profile. Hellsing was an excellent series.
