Actually says if works are "merely", which when left out changes the meaning. All is a result of Grace, and by our faith our works INCREASE justice (NOT CAUSE it). The anathema is only for those that say works are merely as sign and have no effect eternally. "Increase" cannot be understood as getting one to Heaven, the assumption of good works increasing Justice (reward) only matters to someone with the hope of going to Heaven. |
