For some reason, after many months, my husband's complete healing and restoration has been laid upon my heart. I don't know if it is wishful thinking, some part guilt, or truly the Lord's will. I would like to get a variety of opinions about healing, in general, and in the case of my husband.
Let me tell you the story...
My husband has a drug addiction. He is bipolar. He has had two heart attacks, and last June, he was crushed between a tractor trailer and a van. All of this, (except the drug addiction) has occurred in the last three years. The first heart attack occurred just three months into my committing myself to Christ.
I have learned alot, more than I would have if life had been easy. My faith is strong, and Scripture says that we can do all things in Christ, faith of a mustard see, and much, much more. All from faith.
Yet, I also know that God answers prayer according to His will. I wonder if it is indeed God's will, and you better believe I will be praying on this for a long, long time.
Another thing is the sin in my own life. I still battle anger from time to time, mostly at my husband, and hence the guilt. I, also after a gazillion attempts to quit, I am still smoking cigarettes.
Yet, I have learned to praise the Lord even in the worst of times. I have learned that God ALWAYS provides for EVERY need. I mean, even to the point that my son needed new glasses, God very nearly overnight, provided my son with free ones. I mean literally free. No one gave us money. Sears gave away free glasses in December. I never even heard of such a thing, but here comes my son with an e-mail from one of his teachers and a couple weeks later, my son had a very nice pair of glasses.
I have learned that God doesn't always sit on my shoulder and many times He veils Himself from me kind of like a child trying to learn to ride a bike. He lets go to teach me how to pedal. Yet, He is always there to catch me if I fall and skin my knees.
So much more, about hidden sin, about how to talk to others...He removed life long anxiety, and I am honestly afraid of very little now.
He has placed me so that I lead others. He has given me ministry. He has healed so many hurts of the past that I cannot even begin to explain.
I am humbled by such a God as ours.
The other night, I was praying over my husband, crying, and just very broken over him. I felt so bad that I had at times not acted as a Christian in regards to the pot smoking, and most of all, I felt as if all of his health problems were my fault. Of course, Satan magnified the doubt and confusion in my mind, but the truth is, some of the sin is my sin, and even forgiven sin has a long, long reach.
See, about twelve years ago, we began attending church. Neither one of us made any kind of conversion, but my husband said something about talking to the pastor. I barely even remember the conversation, but I stopped my husband from doing it. We stopped going to church after just three months mostly because I didn't want to go. In those three months, my husband was not smoking pot. He of course immediately resumed it, and nine years later, all these health problems began.
So, after such a long, long OP, could some of you please advise me, tell me your experiences, and help me on my journey in seeking the will of God on this matter.
I KNOW that my God CAN heal my husband. What I don't know is if it is His will. The main healing that needs to occur is on the inside, and I understand that, but WHY is this weighing on my mind now? It feels like a prod from the Holy Spirit, but I must test this because feelings are nothing.

Lisa, the one thing I can tell you is that it is ALWAYS God's will to heal everyone, just as much as it is His will that all be saved (1 Tim 2:3-4).
Don't ever pray for healing with the words "If it be Your will." If you dig in and study God's word, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you that it is indeed God's will that ALL be saved AND healed.
There is one book in particular that goes into great detail and is packed full of scripture and testimonies, and I know that it would be a blessing to you. It's called Healing the Sick, by T.L. Osborn.

Healing is Gods will.. but you need to go to the Word and hear that for yourself because unfortunately just on my word alone is not enough... But be encouraged.. this is all happening for a reason.. That you are being drawn to want to know!!
I cannot get away from seeking God on this.. because too many people I know don't believe in healing.. and they are suffering terribly.. But yet the Words of our Living God say so much on the subject and I am experiencing so much in my own body now... which backs up the Word which is hidden in my heart.. Not that Gods Word needs backing up.. LOL... but I have little doubt now.. I am still learning sweet sister though.. but each day I dig into the Word and listen to teaching on it.. I am growing in faith.. and remember the woman with the issue of blood that no doctors could heal.. When she touched Jesus hem.. Jesus said to her.. Your faith has healed you!!
Going on that alone.. shows us.. that faith can bring healing.. Faith according to believing the word of God!!
But we must come in faith.. because it defies our logical thinking... and I might add.. what we might have been taught over many years..
My own church does not believe or have faith to pray for healing.. or if they do.. it isn't talked about much..
What your husband has gone through sounds like satan.. has attacked him in a big way..
There is a verse in the bible.. John 10:10... The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Satan desires to see us weak, defeated.. sickly.. living in fear.. tormented.. caught up in addictions... etc...
Although.. God can use our troubles to cause us to look at Him.. for the most part.. He has given us authority through Jesus name.. to cast our demons.. that cause sickness (woman in the bible who was crippled and could not straighten up.. was bent over because of a demon see Luke 13) and also keep people bound to all sorts of things..
Jesus came that we might have life.. and to the full.. Although people do get sick.. God doesn't make us sick.. He has given us the authority to lay hands on the sick so that they might recover.. so therefore he will not take it away just because.. He has given us the tools to get well... most don't know this..
Jesus died on the cross to take away your sins.. but He was also wounded in his body.. and stripes were laid upon his flesh and part of his flesh was torn from Him.. There is a verse among others that says.. By Jesus stripes we are healed.. Isaiah 53:5
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
We are told to do as Jesus did.. and He healed the sick.. as well as drove out demons..
In fact He even said this..
John 14:12
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Jesus went to the Father.. because He knew He would be sending us the Holy Spirit.. but the Holy Spirit would come to dwell in whomever.. was a believer in Jesus.. so therefore.. many would do greater then Jesus because He on earth only had one physical body but we who believe in Him.. are many yet one through Him..
Amazing.. this is such a little trickle of the water of life you will find.. but its taste is pure and fresh.. and it will bring life and healing to your flesh and spirit!!
Psalm 34:8
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

According to the Bible divine healing is part of the atonement. Isaiah 53:4-5 Matthew 8:17 1 Peter 2:24. See also John 10:10. Matthew 6:9-10 concerning God's will.
The only exception would be if someone had come to the natural end of their life on earth and the Lord was to take the person to Himself. However, Jesus has paid the price for us to have a reasonably healthy body until that time.

As for the cigarettes, If as you say, You've tried and tried to quit and its been a complete failure, acknowledge this before God and tell Him it's just hopeless and then thank a praise Jesus that you can't give up smoking and ask him to give up through you. This is in essence what Paul did in 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10.

God is healing my husband. It is just not a miraculous, "I can see! I can see!" Since posting this, my husband has given up smoking pot. It has now been 9 days. We are also working on quitting smoking cigarettes TOGETHER. In the last three years, I have quit for months at the time, but in times of crisis, have picked them back up because the temptation was always right in front of me in my own house.
Most of all, God is healing the bitter heart inside of my husband. Just today, we went out for a family outing. We went to dinner and then we were going to go to the only place in town with good pool tables. It is a sports bar. We do not drink, and I always thought that it was no different than going to a nice resturant where they have a bar. Today, my husband took the role as Spiritual Leader, and said that if we were going to be Christians, then, we shouldn't go there anymore.
God still performs miracles. The miracles he performs today are in the heart. This is enough for me. I will continue to pray for my husband's health and even healing, but God's will is what I desire most. If my husband's physical health problems will motivate both of us to stay spiritually healthy, then, so be it.

I have to agree Lisa this is wonderful news.. I'd say by the sound of this.. it is very very miraculous!!

I tried to move my initial post from Spiritual Warfare, but to no avail. Please read my post. If I may be of any assistance, I would really like to share my story with you in hopes of reaching your Husbands, and your needs if it is possible. I know my healing will only progress as I reach out to others. Christ will lead me to victory. I know it.!
