I'm 56 and used to read my mom's copies when I was in my teens and 20's. How his father trained him to be a superhuman was fascinating, though fiction.

Peruvian Citadel Is Site Of Earliest Ancient Solar Observatory In The Americas

Science Daily Archeologists from Yale and the University of Leicester have identified an ancient solar observatory at Chankillo, Peru as the oldest in the Americas with alignments covering the entire solar year, according to an article in the March 2 issue of Science.

Recorded accounts from the 16th century A.D. detail practices of state-regulated sun worship during Inca times, and related social and cosmological beliefs. These speak of towers being used to mark the rising or setting position of the sun at certain times in the year, but no trace of the towers has ever been found. This paper reports the earliest structures that support those writings.
At Chankillo, not only were there towers marking the sun's position throughout the year, but they remain in place, and the site was constructed much earlier -- in approximately the 4th century B.C.

Archaeological Remains Point To Exact Location Of Second Temple Of Jerusalem

Science Daily While scholars have put forth various assessments for the location of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, a Hebrew University of Jerusalem professor says that archaeological remains that have so far been ignored by scholars point to the exact location, which is in a spot that differs from prevailing opinion.

Drawing (Temple 1) shows Prof. Patrich's description of the location of the Temple compound (the rectangle defined by a solid line in the center of the drawing). (Drawing by Leen Ritmeyer)

Source: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem Date: February 13, 2007
The location identified by Prof. Joseph Patrich of the Hebrew University Institute of Archaeology places the Temple and its corresponding courtyards, chambers and gates in a more southeasterly and diagonal frame of reference than have earlier scholars.......
This one is the MOST amazing story on here. Prophetically....its a HUGE one.

If this is true, then they can build the Third Temple and not disturb the mosque (which is keeping them from building it now and would start a war if they did).

This is a big one folks.

This WEEK in the European Union

16.03.2007 - 17:29 CET | By Honor Mahony
EUOBERVER / WEEKLY AGENDA (19 - 25 March) - The EU's 50th birthday falls on Sunday 25 March this week with preparations on how to celebrate it, and minute speculation about what exactly will be in the official birthday declaration to mark the occasion, set to dominate the coming days.

The date marks the signing of the Treaty of Rome the precursor to the modern-day European Union.

The day itself is to be marked by celebrations across the 27-nation bloc with Berlin - due to the German EU presidency - to be the centre-point of the festivities.

EU leaders will arrive in Berlin on Saturday evening for a dinner and concert. Sunday morning will see the official ceremony marking the anniversary of the Rome Treaty and according to the provisional time plan, Chancellor Angela Merkel would like to have the whole thing wrapped up by 2pm CET when the final press point conference is scheduled.

However, the run-up to it is unlikely to be entirely without controversy. A state-of-the-union declaration being drawn up by Berlin to mark the occasion is the focus of some keen interest with governments lining up over the past months to say what should or should not be in it.

For its part, Berlin has been playing its cards close to its chest, giving only an indication of the general layout of the document.

A gathering of 200 young people will meet in Rome for a youth summit mirroring its older - and perhaps less idealistic - counterpart in the German capital. It begins on Friday and is set to produce its own declaration summing up the EU as they see it.......

For the rest of the article read above web site....

At Thailand's Tiger Temple, beware the naughty ones

By Russell Blinch
KANCHANABURI, Thailand (Reuters Life!) - The monk in his flowing orange robe looked the picture of serenity as he walked along the path holding the giant tiger by a leash.
The gaggle of tourists that thronged behind him was understandably giddy at the chance of being up close and personal with one of the world's most magnificent, and dangerous, beasts.
The adult tiger was the last of about dozen that had been led down to a small rock canyon where they would bask in the sun and take part in very different kind of photo opportunity.

The Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno, or Tiger Temple, is a petting zoo with a difference.
Tourists are flocking to the temple northwest of Bangkok to pet, and even cuddle, the great striped beasts. They can also have their pictures taken with each tiger to prove their bravery.
"The monastery is not only for man but for all animals who seek the peacefulness," reads the Buddhist temple's brochure.
The monastery was set up in 1994 by abbot Pra Acharn Phoosit (Chan) Khantitharo with the aim of promoting Buddhism and conserving forests and wildlife....
