I've recently been diagnosed with throat cancer and will very soon begin both radiation and chemotherapy treatments. I would like to converse with other Christians who gone through radiation and/or chemotherapy so I can find out a little more as what to expect.
Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

I've not had any experience with what will certainly be trying times ahead for you...but, for some inexplicable reason I felt compelled to share this overwhelming sense I have of God's presence within you and the wish to convey this as reassurance in the strength of His love for you and the fortitude to overcome all you will endure with the strength in your love for Him.
I tried to express that as clearly as I could, so I hope it makes sense to you -- I may ask for an interpretation someday.

Thank you for the words of encouragement DL. Jesus is at my side, helping to bear the weight of the affliction and words of hope and encouragmen, like yours, are regarded by the Father as spoken directly to Him.
I'm trusting in God, that this trial which seems so bitter and hard to bear will prove a blessing. The Lord will work for all who put their trust in Him. Precious victories will be gained by the faithful. Precious lessons will be learned. Precious experiences will be realized.
Thanks again.

Psa 145 (KJV) David's Psalm of praise.
I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. {2} Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. {3} Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. {4} One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Dear repentandbelieve:
I was diagnosed with a Stage 4 tonsil cancer in 2002. I underwent radiation and chemotherapy for 3 months. At the same time, I cried out to God for a greater understanding of my life and His will. He answered me by directing my focus away from the sometimes overwhelming reality of disease and treatment. Even as I cooperated with my physicians, I was prompted to search in the Bible for the living words I had always hoped were there. God was faithful to speak personally to me through His Word about His healing intention for me. I am not a super-believer and He was patient and kind in the midst of my fear and doubt. I'm sure that your doctors have briefed you on what to expect from treatment (side effects, etc.) and may or may not have given you their opinion on your prognosis. I'm sure that they are competent and caring. I want to encourage you to resist the temptation to view your doctors or the statistics as the final authorities over your life. I want to encourage you to hold on to the truth that God is the final authority. I know it's difficult, but if you can place God "at the front of the line", even as you undergo treatment, I am convinced that He will speak to you about this. I believe that the place to begin is with a sincere, needful heart and your Bible. Just start reading in a regular quiet time and be open to the message beneath the literal or historical meaning of the words. It is in this place beneath that the Spirit speaks; almost like a parable.
I want to encourage you as face the upcoming struggle. The treatments will be difficult, and much of the future will seem uncertain. A huge part of the struggle will be in determining what you truly believe. I know that God wants to be more real and more powerful than you ever imagined. Blessings, Idolhunter
