It was a silver heart that he'd gotten at an antique shop, and it was not expensive. It had a loop for a chain but no chain. The plan was to buy the chain while we were on our honeymoon vacation in London. Well, they had lots of silver there and it was really fun to pick out a nice chain. It's my favorite necklace, and the whole thing probably cost $20.00.
