We don't have a lot of family ties and are looking for an "extended family" so to speak. We immediately felt at home in this church. We were wondering "how is this possible?" The description that I read above really explains a lot.
We know very little about Seventh Day Adventists except that they tend to be health oriented, and I am vegetarian, so this appealed to me, but we want to learn more.
We were surprised by the hugs and "happy sabbath" greetings. I always thought sabbath was on Sunday, and every church I've ever been to rarely even mentions the sabbath.
We live in Southern California and attended the SDA church in Redondo Beach. We also attended the Bible Study, which was right before the service.
We were just visiting, because we're looking for a church home.
We can't wait to go back.
Seventh Day Adventists are not the only Body of Believers that worship on the Sabbath.
If you like the idea of worshipping on the Sabbath you may also want to try a Seventh Day Baptist Church or a Messianic Synagogue.
Yes, most SDAs are wonderful people and true Christians and those are wonderful ideas expressed in the OP.
I just want you to know there are other options if you want to worship on the Sabbath.
I am a former SDA and have been to Seventh Day Baptist Church and now attend a Messianic Synagogue and I would have to say, IMHO the Messianic or Seventh Day Baptist are better options for me.
But you decide for yourself.
