Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | Olin's Request (Short Quest) Hello, I am looking for a few good men (or women) to help me rid the local woods of some wolves who have been killing some of the livestock in and around the village. The man who has asked me to carry out this mission (Olin Charkit) has provided me with four short daggers and some other items to help us.
I am hoping to start out as soon as I have enough men (or women), to tackle the wolves. I suspect there are a dozen or so. If you would like to help, there will be a reward. Meet me at the Grendel Inn. *Jonas orders a drink and sits down at one of the tables in the main foyer... Jonas Statlinger is a tall, dark guy with dirty clothes and a hidden smile that he can't seem to hide. Sitting at a table in the corner he has his feet propped up on a lumpy burlap sack. He sips his cider and studies the room filled with travelers of all types.
(NOTE: If you would like to take part in this short role play, just enter the Inn and state a little about yourself. Just about your character because you will have no items or weapons until I give them to you. We all have an HP of 50 to start. No magic or crazy stuff like that. Just a couple of guys that don't mind getting their hands bloody and killing some things. But you never know what surprises may pop up. I'm looking for three to four people. I will be the game master and will describe to you whats going on as well as statistics. Pretty straight forward. I want to keep it as simple as possible while still having fun. I didn't want to start some huge epic RPG that we will all just tire of and forget. So here is a simple mission that will be some fun. Also this is my first Role Play so bear with me. ) |

Reps: 211 (power: 0) | | | As Sulgar wondered down another road after an evening of drinking, he was looking for a place to rest his head for the night. He realized that he had spent the last of his gold on this nights adventure with the bottle.. He entered the inn and noticed a gentleman sitting at a table in the dark corner. He proceeded to the innkeeper and was asking if they could spare a room for the night, but he couldn't pay them tonight. |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | Jonas saw a man half-walk, half stagger into the Inn and saw him walk to the barkeep. Moments later he saw the barkeep shake his head and point to the door. It was obvious the man had been drinking and didn't have any money to get a room for the night. Jonas knew the late September air was starting to become painfully cold and would not make a very nice blanket for sleeping in the alley.
Jonas decided to help the man out and save him from himself, if just for tonight. He got up from the table and walked over to the man who was almost to the door. "Sir, I couldn't help but overhear your dilemma and I would like to help you out. I happen to know the owner of this Inn personally, and I will get you a room and a nice hot meal as well...
Jonas continued. "...All I ask is that in the morning you accompany me on a errand of great importance. If we succeed, there will be money involved for whoever helps me. I will not tell you there are no risks, however. But as I said, you will be handsomely rewarded. So I leave it up to you, however may I add that the rats in the alley are not particularly friendly to strangers."
Jonas smiled wryly and walked slowly back to his table... |

Reps: 211 (power: 0) | | | Sulgar heard the words the man said and at first he walked toward the door as his pride had been hit. The mighty Sulgar that has seen dozens of battles and could never have another mortal take pity on him. As he approached the door he stopped and decided that it wasn't a gift, but it was part of this errand the strange man had mentioned, and hey he needed more money for the bottle. Sulgar walked over to the man in the corner and said " My name is Sulgar, born of the mighty barbarian tribe Eeorris, I would like to hear more of this errand that you speak of. I have no equipment and prefer a club or an axe, but I have torn men apart with my hands. My anger has kept me alive all these years. Are you sure I am the man you look for, for this errand?" As Sulgar said this a bit of Pride welled up inside of himself at the mention of his Tribe. The many years he had spent fighting with his father.. |

"If you can hold a sword, then your my man and it appears you can so it is done then..."
Jonas motioned to the barkeep and threw him a small pouch of coins. "Set this man up with a room and bring him some stew and a cider. Preferably one that is without spirits, he's had quite enough for tonight and I don't want a useless barbarian in the morning."
Jonas laughed and turned back to Sulgar. "Alright, Olin Charkit, one of the most influential men in Abaingeat has asked me to rid the north woods of some troublesome creatures. Some say they are wolves, and others say they are demons but all Olin knows is that they are killing his livestock and he is losing money."
Sulgar took a long swig of his cider, his meaty hands practically enveloping the mug. Jonas leaned forward... "Tomorrow morning, we will head North into the Sindorain Forest, there we will hunt the creatures until we're sure there is none left. Then, we come back here, collect our bounty, and depart ways with a little more gold in our pockets. However, we need a few more men to help us." "Also, here is a map I found, it may help us on our journey."
Jonas slapped a peice of parchment on the table...
Sulgar received his stew and began to eat it. "Eat up, we need to lure us a couple more men to join our motley crew.." |

Reps: 211 (power: 0) | | | "So you say these are wolves huh or even worse?" Sulgar thinks back to the many times he encounter bears, wolves, and even large yeti. Could these creatures be any worse then that? The thought of them two fighting the creatures alone, however many there may be, was causing Sulgar's head to hurt or was it the alcohol. Sulgar rests back in his seat and continues to eat the stew. He was still of the conclusion that the cider, stew, and room was part of the payment for this errand, even though he some how felt a little bit indebted to this man. |

Reps: 1,971,904 (power: 1,995) | | | The sign of the inn swung madly in the wind, its movement rapid and its creaking sounded loud to the ear. For a moment, Kaliorn was unable to see the name, but a tug of the wind revealed the word "Grendel". Hurriedly, she moved forward, her hand pushing open the pair of wooden doors. She entered with her cloak swirling around her ankles as the cold air slipped into the inn. Dark eyes scanned the inn warily, and seeing nothing amiss or nothing that would cause trouble yet, she stroded purposefully and sat herself down on an empty table, waving for the serving boy to take her orders.
She was running a little bit low on money, what she had was enough to last her for a couple of months more, but she liked having reserves. Her sword, a fine one that was too, was lost during a fight with a bear. Disgusted, she shook her head unconsciously at the memory of trying to fend off the animal and cross the river at the same time.

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | The evening was drawing late and the lanterns were being lit. Jonas could hear the wind starting to pick up. He could hear the whistling sound as small gust of wind slipped through the cracks in the windows and doors. He and Sulgar had been sitting silently for a while now, just watching the various farmers and travelers ending their day with some spirits and random company.
The door flew open. A gust of wind made the door open faster and more violently than it would otherwise and everyone in the tavern turned to look as she came walking in the door. It wasn't her beauty that first caught his eye, that was obvious, it was the way she carried herself. Noble and majestic, unwavering like a tall oak standing defiantly on the edge of a riverbank, daring erosion and time to bring her down.
Jonas caught himself staring and turned back to his drink, which was now practically gone. He looked up at Sulgar.
"That's who we need."
He said as he pointed a slow finger toward the woman across the room.
Jonas had grown up raising his younger sisters when his parents were killed, eventually they were taken in by a small convent in the western lands but he had such a difficult time and had such an immense love for them. Jonas respected women and knew deep down that they could have just as much strength as any warrior and just as much wisdom as the wisest seer.
He glanced over at Sulgar who was, himself, staring at the woman.
"You stay here and watch our table, I'm going to speak with the young lady. Perhaps she could be of some service to us."
Jonas slowly arose from his seat and walked across the room, never taking his eyes off the beautiful stranger. He could tell that she was very cautious, always watching her surroundings looking for dangers.
Finally she noticed him approaching her. He gave his vest a quick tug and extended his hand.
"Jonas Statlinger, of Palanthas."
He gave a small nod and continued.
"I would like to speak with you for a moment if I could. Mind if I have a seat?" |

He heeded shelter and food. He had been wandering the feilds for some time. He was on the outskirts of town. He heard a howl and turned around to see beady red eyes staring out of the dark. He didnt know what they were, but he took off running like his life depended on it.

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | Jonas was interuppted as a half-naked man came charging into the Inn. He quickly collapsed on a chair by the door and placed his face in his hands. He was quite the dishevelled traveler but also looked as if he could use some friends. No one seemed to come to his aid here.
Jonas caught the attention of Sulgar and motioned him to approach this weary traveler. He nodded.
Jonas turned around to face the beautiful stranger once again... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
