Here's a picture of my harp (36 string Meghan harp, made by Mid-East Mfg. - a nice beginner harp):
And here's a picture of the harp I'd like to have some day, if God keeps leading me in this direction with my music... I've been feeling a strong calling to do harp therapy. This is a Lyon & Healy Petite (XP), I'm too small for a concert grand size harp... which would be a pain to carry around anyhow!

God is not a genie in a bottle that grants wishes upon prayerful demand nor a vending machine deity that dispenses treats when you insert the coins of your good works. He desires your simple trust in His ability to work for your good, even through painful circumstances.
Mine was $815... that's really cheap for a 5 octave harp. My sister has a smaller one, 3 octaves... same brand, it was $230. They are both lever harps.
The harp I want (that I pictured) is a Lyon & Healy pedal harp, extra petite size (I'm small)... it's $9,000. But that's still inexpensive for a pedal harp. My best friend is a harpist and has a concert grand pedal harp (she plays in the symphony) and hers costs $20,000! Ack!!!

you play the harp!!!!!!!! ME TOO!!!!!! this is so cool, i didn't think anyone else here would. wow, this is awesome. i have an 38 string (wierd number eh?) Pratt, lever harp. my harp is about the size of the one in your picture that you want. but of course, i want a pedal harp too. i'm going for my grade 8 exam (in canada, you can only take up to grade 8 in harp) this christmas, but am always having trouble finding times to practice. your pick harp to buy is good though, i like the whole simple style!!

I just started harp back in October - it's not my primary instrument (professionally, I'm a flutist and pianist). I really love it!
One of the girls in the harp ensemble I play with just got a Salvi Daphne pedal harp. It's beautiful - great lines, and a warm, rich sound. So I've changed my mind (my dream) from the Lyon & Healy 85XP to the Salvi
I'm outgrowing my lever harp FAST. I guess it's the strong piano background. Plus, my harp's levers aren't very good.
