Sad Strong mouth odor

Does anyone have a sure remedy (or perhaps surgery) to rid of strong mouth odor (and breathiness) that is not related to dental hygiene, tongue, or nasal area? Must be coming internally from the stomach area. Had surgery (removed excess tissue from nasal area, reconstructed uvula, and removed tonsils) -- didn't help. (Mouth washes, toothpastes, sprays, tongue cleaning, flossing, don't help).

My suggestion is to see someone who is knowledgeable about nutrition, like a naturopath or a chiropractor who specialises in nutrition.

I had the breath/bad taste problem for years. It does indeed seem to stem from the stomach or the digestive tract. I don't have the problem any more, except of course if I eat spicy or garlicy foods. Also I have learned which foods cause the problem to come back. For me, it's chocolate, cheeses (actually most dairy), tomatoes, and many processed foods.

There's a product that I buy that really helps me. you can get it at a health food stores, called bentonite. Do a web search on the product and you might find some interesting info. Anyway, I mix liquid bentonite with powdered psyllium in a glass of juice and drink. This stuff has done my body more good than anything I have ever ingested. It's kinda bizarre, I admit, but when you're desperate and traditional medicine just doesn't cut it you tend to think outside the box.

Thank you so much for your response. I know there are several people that suffer from this type of mouth odor. It has been a big hinderance to socializing. I will indeed do a search on bentonite. And as you stated there are certain foods to avoid. Though I love chocolate, I think I am going to have to give that up along with the dairy products.

By the way, do you drink this just once a day?

I don't have any kind of schedule for taking it or anything, but I do drink it about 3 times a week. You could take it everyday, twice a day if you wish. I also have some digestive problems occasionally, and it calms and soothes my stomach and guts like no medicine ever did for me. You have to make sure to drink a lot of water because it absorbs a lot of water (so just make sure you drink extra). Also realize that like many natural remedies it might not help health problems immediately like a drug would. My mom sells this line of product www.sonnes.com and this is what I also take. I don't do the whole program, it's kind of weird to me, and I'm kind of chicken. But everyone that I know who has done the whole program I have always been impressed. They have and amazing healthy glow about them, like they've just been at the beach and got a tan.

Thanks once again. I went to the health food store last night and purchased the Sonnes brand #7 and #9.

Take care.

Yes, I was thinking that it could be from a food allergy too.

My first thought would be post-nasal drip, but if it's not nasal related, I would ask to be referred to a GI doctor (specialist in your gastro intestinal tract), and see if they can help. Are you on any medications? Certain drugs can cause bad breathe. If you suspect a food allergy, testing may be in order. I hope you get to the root of this problem! Running a search on the net for causes of bad breathe may be helpful as well, since doctors can't diagnose everything.
Hugs!

gargle

Gargle with a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide.

Also try a few ounces of water mixed with a spoon of activated charcoal.

Thanks all. I appreciate your suggestions. I have been searching the Internet for the last two years. The most logical answers I've received has been from this forum and also an on-line prayer group.

One person suggested juicing kale leaves and potatoe juice first thing in the morning for 3 weeks and take one week off. I have been doing that for several months. It has helped somewhat because I've not been getting the strong reaction from people; although there are days that I do get the strong reaction (more likely the week off). I just want to be able to speak with confidence.

Some time ago, I tried hydrogen peroxide and water -- I had an allergic reaction. I also tried the charcoal years ago.

God says "seek and ye shall find." I'm believing the answer will come; perhaps it already has in the form of the suggestions received in this thread.

You may want to see a dentist or oral surgeon. I recently had my wisdom teeth taken out, and before I did, I had very bad breath odor. My wisdom teeth pushing in had caused a pocket to form between it and a tooth, and food was getting in there. You could have some problems with your teeth and/or gums, so seeing an oral specialist may help!
