Question Vitamins and Supplements?

Currently I am taking a One-A-Day Maximum vitamin daily.
Does anyone take any of the supplements that are advertised in Men's Health magazine and sold at places like GNC?

Do any of them really help you be healthier than without them?

This thread is about the same topic, pretty much:

Anyway, dietary supplements are not regulated by any governmental organization (like the FDA), so you don't really know what you are getting. I would say you are healthier without them. If I were to start taking anything, I would check with my doctor first.

Basically I'm asking if anyone has tried any of the extra supplements that are advertised and sold (more specialized than a simple multivitamin).

vitamin supplements arent nearly as affective as whole foods.

i persnally don't take vitamins (aside from my flinstone vitamin ) but from what my nutrionist tells me, if aren eating a alanced diet, i.e. especially fresh fruits and veggies, (cuz if u cook em the vitamins and nutrients are cooked away with em) you arent getting nearly asmany vitamins as u need. its better to not take a supplement, just eat up.

also, if u eat a full balanced meals, and take vitamins, u can overdose. there is such thig o too much of a good thing can kill ya...

something to think about. if i rmember correctly, sumone in above pot mentioned seeing ur doc b4 u add the supplement. i recommend that too.,

take care.

Buffy: "So here's the part where you make a choice: What if you could have that power... now? In every generation, one slayer is born... because a bunch of men who died thousands of years ago made up that rule. They were powerful men. This woman is more powerful than all of them combined. So I say we change the rule. I say my power... should be our power. Tomorrow, Willow will use the essence of the scythe to change our destiny. From now on, every girl in the world who might be a slayer... will be a slayer. Every girl who could have the power... will have the power... can stand up, will stand up. Slayers... every one of us. Make your choice. Are you ready to be strong?"

I lowered my cholesterol 55 pts through adding a lot of oils and b vitamins to my daily regimen. My doctor was impressed with the selection and only added one, folic acid.

I take: EPA Oil, Garlic, Flaxseed Oil, Biotin, B-6, B-12, Pantethine, Niacin, Lecithin, Co-enzyme Q10, L-Carnitine, Vitamin E, Vit C w/bioflavinoids, selenium, zinc, Folic Acid and a 81mcg aspirin daily.

i believe if you're into health and fitness you should try a multi. they are very inexpensive. with soil being depleted and all the chemicals to say you can get all your vitamins and minerals from food is kind of outdated.

my list is

multi-vitamin/mineral
whey protein
creatine
glutamine
glucosamine
maltodextrin
vitamin C

I used to take GNC vitamins and then I learned your body needs more daily than most vitimans give you. I started taking HFTW vitimans and I feel so much better. My energy and body feel great. You can check them out at:
