Read the whole letter. It is clear that those brothers and sisters (in 1992) did not attempt to find out the nature of the songs being sung, and were speaking out of prejudice and ignorance. I am sure things are different now; I have read very different reports from more recently.

Well, it's certainly true that lots of missionaries have done harm. Samuel Clemens wrote about many of them in some of his oft-suppressed writings; they were spreading USAmerican dominationalism and calling it Christ. Which is, of course, what so many of the churches in the USA have also been doing, and are still doing today.

In fact, one of the happiest things for me in the world today, is to see that the Lord is decreasingly allowing those that kill for carnal freedom, to call armies of death-mongers with the name of His Son. He is allowing less and less fakery; He is giving less and less power to false ones who steal His name for their flesh.

But I thoroughly agree, we will hear more evil than good from this world. The world lies in its sin; it is not a very good transmittor of truth or goodness. There is only one very good transmittor of truth and goodness, and that is God.

I think that the only way we will learn about truths and goodnesses done in the name of God, is by seeking them, asking the Lord to show them to us, and being willing to be shown. And unless I am mistaken, there is a ring of a certain statement of the Lamb of God in this thinking.

Treat them with love, pray for them, and hopefully they will convert to be a real Christian!

The fake ones are the ones who make comments like this (GOSSIPS). They are worse than the ones "doing" these things.

How do you deal w/em? It's not for me, that battle is not mine..It is for me to be me and to learn from those (as others point out we have to do some discerning) with something to teach.

I have many things to do. I can't not fix or control the "church of laodicea" crowd, so I just smile and go on. Count it all joy..

What too many people forget is that Christ did not call us to condemn others or to try to make them feel conviction for their sins, that is the Holy Spirits job. We are simply to love them, present the truth and and witness to them.

Fake Christians.

What a Concept. I mean, Yes, people use Jesus name for Political power, wealth, and to push their own agendas.

But are they really fake Christians?

I would wonder, maybe they are more real in their belief then most, as they know what they believe, better, far better then those that follow them. I mean truly how much can you have "faith" in something, if you are willing to treat it like a tool.

Just something that came to my mind regarding this.

For the most part, I shake the dust off my feet, and move on, when I have deal with these types of people.

Probably depends on the meaning we use of the word "Christian". Interestingly enough, in Scripture we have not one single instance of the Lord Himself using that word. So I tend to avoid it as much as possible.
