If you look at 1 Cor. 13, you'll see Jesus was every bit of this. 1 Cor. 13 is the chapter that talks about love.

Here's another interesting thought, Mark. He was the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world.

What exactly does that mean? Does it mean he fulfilled a plan that was designed way back when? It can't mean he was actually slain before the foundation of the world, because he had to first be born and live on earth before he could die.

Also, how is it that you say Jesus acted as man rather than God during his life? Are you saying that a spirit-filled Christian could calm a storm, cast out demons and do the same sort of things Jesus did?

So let me see here: Jesus was a God prior to his birth, then a man after his birth? What form would you consider he is in now?

This is quite puzzling.

Mark

With God there is no time. Time is just for us here and now..

Have you ever read the scriptures that called Him the Son of Man? there are several.

Revelation 14:14
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

Mark 9:9
And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead

He was God who came to earth and lived in a human body. He said the things He did we shall do also and even greater.

John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Many people including me has calmed the storm and other things .I dont think I'd be alive now if I hadn't . We are just a vessel, but its His power working thru us and acting in faith.

We must know the will of the Father and act accordingly. In Revelation, an earthquake is spoken of that will come, and all the praying and commanding will not alter that.

As we spend time with the the Lord, we know Him more. Jesus would rise up a great while before day, and go up a mountain alone to pray. Sometimes He prayed all night. I believe He was finding what the Father wanted. We see after these times of prayer He picked His disciples, or we see a change of direction, He would go to another city, etc.

We see God's will clearly on many things in the Bible. There are some things we don't have to pray about, to ask what His will is, because we know it from what He has already said. But then there are some things, some specific things, that we find through prayer.

Mark, I'm sorry if I gave you too much to chew on. I don't mean to overwhelm you by introducing too many new ideas at once. It seems that you are very eager to know more and that is drawing it out of me. If you prefer to slow down and discuss the things already covered in more depth, just say the word. You can go to the references given and study them. Listening to anointed teachers in the body is a great way to absorb truth too. TV, CDs, and the like make getting teaching on the Word very easy for us.

No worries. Everything that has been shared is interesting, although certain points may merit additional discussion.

You are correct that we know many things in God's will. Maybe we know them so well that we don't really think of them. We know how God wants us to treat other people (which is one of the most important aspects, IMO), we know God wants us to work hard and be good stewards, we know God wants us to have faith and also use common sense. Yes, we know many things and incorporate them in our daily lives.

There are many specifics, such as career, relationships, etc., that vary from one individual to the next and can't be so easily discerned by simply reading from the Bible (or anything else). Your point about spending time in prayer seems quite valid.

The whole relationship between Jesus and God is rather fascinating --- and admittedly complex. It's interesting that Jesus referred to himself as the "Son of Man" as cited above, but never (that I have found) as "Son of God". If Jesus somehow laid aside part of who he was, is he any different now?

Ah, this is one of things I admire so about Jesus. He never boasted who He was; His works spoke it loud enough.

Hallelujah. Jesus you are wonderful!

I'm so in love, I had to insert that praise to the Lord.

He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, as He was then.

I believe He is a resurrected man forever. I believe He is the Son of God.

I just thought of this song, do you know it, "I Believe in Jesus"?

I believe in Jesus
I believe He is the Son of God
I believe He died and rose again
I believe He came for us all

And I believe He is here now
Standing in our midst
Here with the power to heal now
And the grace to forgive.

Yes, if you read the accounts, the Angel of the Lord said "I will"-an angel can't do anything. They are messengers of God, they have no powers of their own.
In the furnace, it was said "one like the son of man", that's also Him. He always was, as God always was.
You are right, it can be puzzling. Our limited human minds have a very hard time trying to figure out how it all works, but, when we get to Glory, we will know. We will be fully spirit, in the presence of the King, and will know as we are known-and what a day that will be!
